Good Luck With That

Eric Cantor thinks 2010 is his year:

GOP Whip Eric Cantor thinks his party can retake the House in next year’s midterm elections — and accused Democrats of “overreacting” to the economic crisis by embarking on a federal spending spree.

In other words: when the economy recovers, it’ll be because it was going to happen anyway and the Democrats just went overboard. That’ll be the Republican line. It’ll be grossly wrong and misleading, but that appears to be what Cantor is planning (or fantasizing about).

Yeah so, he should really read Nate Silver’s piece from a while ago on the Democratic advantage in the house. 40 districts where the republicans don’t even run, about 100 where Democrats win by 40 or more points, and oh, yeah… if Republicans go up 15% across the board- that’s actual votes increase by 15% in every single districs- the democrats still hold the house by 3 seats. 5 or 10% will get them a handful of seats.I’m just gonna mail him a rabbits foot or something.
