Looking A Gift Horse in the Mouth

This situation with Lance Armstrong and the French anti-doping agency is pathetic. The guy took a 20 minute shower, and so the AFLD wants to discipline him for temporarily evading a mandatory drug test. I mean, he submitted to the test and came up clean. But good move, anti-doping people. There’s more interest in cycling this season than at any other time in the last four years and the French anti-doping people are discouraging the participation of the rider who’s primarily responsible for this ramped up level of excitement.

Jesus, the French sure have a hard-on going after Lance. Wtf?Umm, maybe if they would spend as much time going after terrorists or something really important. Just sayin’.

The good news is that Lance was clean. The rest is politics. Just for conversation sake, how many positive tests do you think we see from this years Tour? And, if Lance rides the Giro will he have the gas to ride and compete in France this summer? I just don’t see him doing both the Giro and Tour at this stage of his career.

No sport shoots itself in the foot (mouth, head) more reliably. I swear, it’s like they outsourced their PR to the guys who orchestrated the NHL strike a few years ago.

NorCal, I think at this point the setback in Lance’s training means that he will only be using the Giro to get fit. So, game on in July.

Can’t go with you there. Lance Armstrong is a cheater.I used to love the sport of cycling. I used to video tape the tour when it used to come on CBS back in the day.”Strock and Kaiter have continuously maintained that Wenzel, team soigneur Angus Fraser and another U.S. team coach had on several occasions injected riders with cortisone, treated them with other steroids (corticoids and anabolics) and provided them with amphetamines and other possible performance-enhancing drugs during the 1990 season in the U.S. and Europe. That other U.S. coach remains unnamed in the suit, but former U.S. national team coach Chris Carmichael reportedly settled out-of-court with plaintiffs in the case in late 2000 or early 2001. Carmichael has repeatedly declined to comment on questions about an out-of-court settlement. “http://www.velonews.com/article/9763Lance Armstrong was ready to quit cycling. Then he hooked up with Carmichael who became his longtime coach. You decide. He’s a fraud.

All of those are mighty easily identified in testing and yet he’s NEVER been tested positive.

    >>>Can’t go with you there. Lance Armstrong is a cheater. While there have been some suspicious connections, I simply can’t subscribe to the European “guilty until proven innocent” policy. Unless he tests positive for something, he’s an innocent man.
