I dunno. From the trailer, this looks like yet another pointless, stupid movie. :( I never get the humor of these things.QT

Indeed. Da Ali G contain some of the most revealing interviews ever recorded. Sacha’s use of Socratic irony is never lost on me.I can’t wait.

I was born and raised in the mid-west with some very educated parents, so luckly I felt I missed the worst parts of growing up in rural areas that really were blatantly racist and anti-semitic.

We I moved to Queens, NY in 2005. I went to see Borat, and the elderly gentleman in a Yamuka(sp?) next to me I was worried he would walk out when Cohen’s Character ran from a bed and breakfast because he believed the Jewish owners had turned into cockroaches. He proceeded to laugh so hard almost continuously for the rest of the movie I thought the guy would have a heart attack.

After the Borat scene with the SC University guys going on about Jews and other things, I think was an important way that only a major movie release could to that would make people realize we still have a long way to go in this country.

Cohen’s thesis in college was focused on the importance and support the american Jewish community provided Martin Luther King’s civil rights work, I almost have to say Cohen’s comedy is very focused on the juxtoposition of the majority(in group) perspective against itself.

I think his scorching tackling of what americans don’t like to think about themselfs in a humorous and over the top manner makes reaches people in a way that really can change people’s self image in a way a normall documentary or educational film couldn’t do.

As a language nazi, I’m really bothered by the umlaut, because it makes the title of the movie “Breeno”, not “Bruno”. That might fly in the US, but not in Europe where pretty much everyone is aware of this.
