One Week To Massive Group Tea Bag

April 15 is the big day when Republicans will get together and dangle tea bags in front of their faces (for some reason) and to make loud noises. Oh, and wingnut babies will go unsupervised, allowing them to flee for safety.

Steve Benen wonders out loud:

Meanwhile, I suspect one of the problems with the Tea Parties is that it’s not altogether clear what they’re rallying for. [...]

I take it they don’t like the economic stimulus package, but that’s already passed. They don’t like budget deficits, unless they’re run by Republican presidents. They don’t want their taxes to go up, but Obama has already passed a significant middle-class tax cut, which by most measures, is the largest tax cut ever signed by a U.S. president.

So, angry, right-wing activists are going to get together to demand … what exactly? A 36% top rate instead of a 39.6% top rate? A $3.1 trillion federal budget instead of a $3.5 trillion deficit? It’s hardly the stuff of a credible and coherent political movement.

They’re going to say that socialism is bad while gathering on publicly-financed park land and outside public buildings. They’re going to insist that they don’t want their taxes raised even though it’s likely that upwards of 90 percent of the tea baggers are getting a tax cut. And they’re generally going to emulate an protest from history that was precipitated by a corporate tax cut, which would otherwise indicate that the tea baggers are against tax cuts.

So…

They’re rebelling against…the air President Obama breathes.Hmm, that works against their cause, too, right?Well, damn it, that PR firm that is waging this “tea bag” campaign isn’t going to let that money go to waste. With that, the clowns they’ve hired and the dupes they’ve conned will just have to show up to protest…tea itself.DROWN THE TEA, PEOPLE! DROWN IT ALL!BOIL IT, TOO! BOIL THE TEA!!!

What might be nice from the boneheads on the news networks, instead of talking about Levi Johnston (honestly is sickens me that I have to know who he is), maybe they should show people how to take a pay stub from a few months ago and a pay stub from now, do the simple math to figure out how much was withheld in federal taxes and then stick a symbol between them. I’ve done it. Guess what, I’m paying less now than I was in February.Instead, here’s what’s going to happen: knuckleheads who like getting a giant tax return each year will receive a smaller tax return in 2010 than they did in 2009 and they will claim that there is the proof that they are paying more taxes under Obama.

In Kansas City the teabagistas are gathering at the Liberty Memorial. This is the same location where President Obama had a large campaign rally, which I attended along with 75,000 of my friends.I’m going to go and see how many show up. I’m writing my news stations here to do a contrast between the two events. This will make it obvious which viewpoint our city truly embraces.I’m also going to be curious to see how much litter the revolution leaves in it’s wake.

I particularly enjoy the fact that these morans are going to “protest” and STILL have their taxes all taken care of and good to go.

The direction our country is headed, we’re in trouble. Putin has a better plan than Obama.
