Sarah Palin apparently agreed to speak at a major Republican fundraiser, but then wasn’t so sure she would attend. So the Republicans disinvited her and booked Newt Gingrich instead.

Sources familiar with the Palin snub fumed about how the governor handled this.

“She was a disaster,” one Republican source told FOX News. “We had confirmation.”

As for inviting Gingrich, National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Ken Spain said the GOP “decided to go in another direction.”

“Speaker Gingrich is a leader,” Spain added.

Of couse Sarah Palin is a walking, talking, turkey-geeking disaster. The Republicans are only discovering this now?

    But she’s cute and spunky and they are easily distracted. It’s been a very long time since the wrong wing has cared about substance.     NOOOO!!!!Sarah Palin carrying the GOP’s standards is the best thing to happen to the Democrats since Barry Goldwater’s unique brand of asshattery. I don’t want her going back to obscurity. Granted, Gingrich is also a tool, but Palin and Glenn Beck together will unwittingly drive the final nails in the conservatives’ casket of irrelevance.
