    GItheRadioHead!

  • jane

    What a potty mouth.

  • bjritz

He talk’s like he writes – so Elvisish.

  • bjritz

Wow, glad GI made it! That was close.

  • jane

I am glued to the speakers. We need more of this. More first person accounts.

  • TruthSerum

He is doing a great job!

  • jane

    Fuck off, spermy.

  • TruthSerum

  • TruthSerum

Be nice Jane I came out of seclusion to listen to this

  • jane

It’s nice to be nice to the nice.

  • veralynn

damn Joe—you are why I am proud of this country and our militarythank you

  • jane

Next time we need Southern Bitch to give us HER story from Iraq.

  • Mike

Does he have any stigmata of PTSD?

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

The notion that “The Mission” is about helping Iraqis is a bit simplistic. The mission was a patchwork of varying and often conflicting goals that changed over time – starting out with disarm and depose, then train and support, the surge, divide and conquer…but let’s not say “the mission was about helping Iraqis” – that’s only how it was generally marketed.

  • jane

    Also: Bob said “doody”

  • bjritz

Yeah, good idea Jane. I’ve only talked to men vets and no women. Do you know someone?

  • bjritz

Mike, I thought his stigmata was from FSM.

  • Mike

The military was so unprepared for this war of urban combat. Why would we send anyone into combat with canvas backed HumVees

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

Democrats provide troops with armor. That explains the sea of love for Obama in Baghdad this week.

  • bjritz

    Lee’s a cad.

  • Mike

    FSM?

  • bjritz

    Liberal brother? No, I’m surprised.

  • http://nadsofthor.wordpress.com Redmond

I’d like to meet this liberal brother sometime. Maybe buy him a beer. Or ten.

  • Mike

No, an Iraq vet and advocate

  • bjritz
  • bjritz

It’s like paying a bad tenant to move out of your rental unit before he breaks anything else.

  • Mike

He’s wrong on that. The Sunnis realized that we were not leaving and thus had to work with Americans, the Sunnis resented the fundamentalist views of the jihadists, and we changed tactics.

  • veralynn

what about KBR? Any experiences with them?

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

Lee’s got some uuuh sort of, that is say reminds me a bit uh could be cast as something uh…in the vein of…perhaps uh.. Wolf Blitzer thing going on.

  • bjritz

Thank Dick Cheney for the hot dogs.

  • Mike

Would he go back again ?

  • veralynn

M*A*S*H reference, very nice Bob, my father thanks you

  • Mike

PTSD?Any problems with memory loss? form traumatic brain injury related to the IED blast?

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

    Roids in the hot dogs!

  • Mike

okay now the conversation is getting nutty and losing authenticity. Steroids in the food?

  • bjritz

Morning routine, push ups, work out…and shit, tmi GI, tmi!

  • Mike

How does he feel when he sees news clips on TV about Iraq?

  • bjritz

So, that was the Jerry Springer moment, we have the guy here on the radio…great!

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

I book Joe again! Great show.

  • http://nadsofthor.wordpress.com Redmond

Mike, if you’re interested in the PSTD and a vet, Joe will definitely talk about it, man. Just hit him up.

Any experiences with them?Unfortunately, TOO MUCH. They are assholes and overpaid.>>Would he go back again ?Could. I hope not. Iraq was horrible. Not my favorite vacation spot.PTSD?Any problems with memory loss? form traumatic brain injury related to the IED blast?Memory loss? Maybe. I can’t remember a lot of the blood and really bad shit. How does he feel when he sees news clips on TV about Iraq? Most of the time I am just happy to see TV coverage of the war.>>unbelievable story gi! could have done without the reservation comment, but still awesome! ;) SO SORRY!!! That was rude of me. I didn’t realize I said that. Didn’t even think of the context.

  • http://nadsofthor.wordpress.com Redmond

    Podcast up!

  • TruthSerum

You spoke very well and with energy that kept the listener enthralled.I listened to the whole show

  • ceu

    ya done good, Joe.

  • Mike

Joe, can you sleep at night? Do you sleep the same way that you did before you left for Iraq?

  • jane

    Goddamn awesome. Thanks, Joe.

  • http://www.osborneink.com Matt Osborne

    Great show! Kudos to Joe!

  • GItheJOE

    >>Joe, can you sleep at night? Do you sleep the same way that you did before you left for Iraq?I never SLEEP! I wait. Just kidding. But sleep has been an issue with me since the first tour. I have a terrible time trying to go to sleep. Once I do get to sleep I always wake up tired.GDAB, Thank you. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nervous I would say something wrong. But you have all made me feel good about telling the stories.

  • Mike

You did not sound nervous at all. You also gave an accurate portrayal that was respectful to those in uniform. We all hate KBR.

  • http://www.windonwater.net QueenTiye

Just “Dugg” the show: http://digg.com/d1oIN9Please digg!QT

  • GItheJOE

Mike, thanks. The one thing I didn’t want to do was damage the US Army. She is an evil bitch but I guess I love her.

  • http://www.osborneink.com Matt Osborne

GItheJoe, if you have (A) trouble falling asleep and (B) feel tired when you wake up, you ought to consult a sleep specialist.I had the same problems (though it wasn’t from combat). Turned out I had RLS, Restless Leg Syndrome, which is definitely not a made-up new disease. It’s real and it sucks donkey dick. Fortunately, there are some super-cheap generic meds that do the trick for me.Do you ever have that “jerking awake” thing for no reason right as you’re falling asleep?

  • fe

GI, I’m proud to know you.

  • jane

Next mission: GET YOUR GF ON THE RADIO!

  • http://www.osborneink.com Matt Osborne

    What Jane said!

  • GItheJOE

MATT,HOLY SHIT!!!!! FUCK YES!!! Both the GF and I have that shit. It wakes me up all the time. Just when I am almost passed out my entire body decides to freak the fuck out. WOW!!!fe, I am proud to know and serve all of you. The people that HATE America are the people the love and appreciate Veterans the most.

  • GItheJOE

Not my call.I believe the BOB and the LEE hold the controls for that mission. Now, she is medically retired so she can let it ALL out. No Censorship and southern cursing.

  • http://www.osborneink.com Matt Osborne

GI: see the doc, tell the GF to talk to her doc, and ask about low-dose clonazepam or alprazolam. There’s a couple more in the same class of meds. I have a few and only use one if I’m having a supremely bad night. If ya’ll are leery of those two, try baclofen. It’s a mild muscle relaxer that usually does the trick when I take it an hour before bed.If those don’t work, you can try the pricey new stuff, Mirapex.

  • GItheJOE

MATT, we have an endless supply of other sleep aids but those are new. I will make an appointment soon.

  • IC

QT, I registered just now so I could digg it. If you’ll put up URLs like that again, then I’ll digg whenever I see them, since I have no idea how you directly linked to it at all and don’t feel up to the learning curve right now. :)
