    Carl-I hope you aren’t anywhere near Barefoot. I have a friend whose son lives in Southport, NC and he said the smoke was bad. Of course, this was yesterday, I believe they have it almost contained. I hope you have fun and I hope the House of Blues didn’t get lit up. It is at Barefoot, I think. I wasn’t driving and was drinking the last time I was there, so it is a little fuzzy.

    Ms. Bachmann comes from the redneck Christofascist district of MN. There are two kinds of people in her district: ignorant Lutheran bigots with Buicks up on blocks in the front yard and people that are moving out of the district.I have this information from someone that lives near that district but refuses to go there unless absolutely forced to. People that don’t live there avoid it as much as possible.The residents live in their own little universe of delusions only slightly connected to the outside world. Bachmann is unfortunately typical.

    I would have to go with slime mold on your question Git.While pond scum is gross, it does not seem strong enough to convey the, well, slimy.I really thought the areas around Minneapolis were more liberal. IIRC, her district is in or around Minneapolis.

    I don’t know the area. I’ve been to Wisconsin but not to Minnesota. The description is from someone that lives nearby that district that comments at BradBlog. I have no way of verifying the veracity of the information other than the person who posted it was always factually correct on other topics where I could easily fact check. In other words, I trusted the commenter.

This also explains the reluctance of people from the blue districts to visit the red district.     Tweety is on my banned list for his performance with Dr. Turley yesterday. No more Hardball for me.Minx – I’ll get more info on the Manatee Co. Home invasions. I heard that in Manatee Co. most of the home invasions are happening because no one is locking their doors. Seems to me keeping your doors locked would be a clever idea. But that’s me.I haven’t been following very closely but I heard about the unlocked door stuff this week on the local tampa bay abc news.

    So, I am watching Narnia and just realized something. The Polar Bears are the only animals that are evil. Which reminds me of something, Jesus loves oil. Because this bullshit movie was based off the mythology of an innocent person/thing dying for our sins, sound familiar? So, the creators of this movie knew the moron Christians would eat up the Jesus bullshit while at the same time telling Christians to kill Polar Bears and get the precious oil out of Alaska.     I’ve never seen the Narnia movie. I read the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe once in the late 70s and haven’t read it since. I didn’t particularly care for the story. I might have liked it better if I had read it when I was 9 or less. Since I had read most of Heinlein’s stuff by the time I was ten, children’s fantasy stories were not as appealing as adult fantasy stories like the Dragonriders of Pern and such as. I don’t understand why Ann McCaffrey’s stuff hasn’t been made into a movie yet.

    You would all be proud of me today. One of the Jesus loving ROTC idiots had his Bible in the back of his car. I opened it up to Leviticus Chapter 20 and started reading it aloud to him. He began screaming something bullshit about “A New Covenant” which was Jesus Christ. He told me “Moses’” law was “A Different Time”. So I replied with, “The New Covenant was produced in a different time, don’t you think we need a New New Covenant for today’s time?” That one stumped him and it went straight to crazy after that.
