Super Stupid

Following up on Congressman Barton’s proud ignorance from earlier, here’s Bill O’Reilly being a dick towards Alan Colmes — and getting his little “high school” history lesson totally wrong.

Yep, that’s O’Reilly insisting that President Nixon never met with Mao. And doing so with his usual arrogant, stuffed shirt asshattery.

O’REILLY: All right, but — OK, all of those are valid points, as long as you realize it was Zhou Enlai, not Mao Zedong.

COLMES: Zhou Enlai, OK.

O’REILLY: OK. Yeah, I don’t want to confuse you — the high school thing. But –

But, but, but –

I bet he really sucked as a school teacher. I had two teachers that were opinionated fuckwits just like him. The only things I learned from them was how awful opinionated fuckwits are to be around. I learned the stuff they were supposed to be teaching by reading the text book. One could say that I learned in spite of the fuckwit so-called teacher.

Yup, sure looks like Mao to me.

It’s the new revisionist history – if the facts don’t fit the theory, change the facts.

  • jaywilie

That’s not Mao…that’s his twin brother, Marty Zedong.

  • Ozymandias

    What a fucking asshat

  • BlueFan

What. A. Fucking. Tool. Who needs “facts”?He’d insist that the sky is green if you told him it was blue.

Look at that asshole Nixon smiling! Impeach! Imp.. oh wait…

I was 12 years old, and remember the historic trip Nixon made. Pretty much the only decent thing Dick accomplished.

Posted By Bob Cesca | April 23, 2009 5:45 PM | Comments (9)I’ve read two biographies about Nixon. It’s common sense. Even if you don’t read books, how could you miss the 5,000 movies (documentaries, biopics and dramas) that show this meeting?Unbelievable.

And what about that grinning bitch across from them. She knew O’Rowdy was wrong but she wouldn’t dare correct his ass; Some expert on Nixon!

The Nixon-Mao meeting was one of the most momentous events of the early ’70′s. It pre-empted network broadcasts. I was a child at the time, but I remember it clearly. O’Reilly was 23 years old. What was he doing at the time? Having showers with falafels?I knew O’Reilly was ignorant, but this takes the cake. Also, don’t you love how he pronounced Zhou Enlai’s name “Chew”? I know it’s because of the outdated Wade-Giles romanization system, but still. Who uses “Chou En-Lai” and “Mao Tse-Tung” anymore?Like Barack Obama said, it’s as if these people take pride in being ignorant, like that Republican Dan Burton not knowing about continental drift and bragging about it.

Just another example of his approach to everything – absolute certainty. Even when he’s incorrect about a verifiable fact. I seem to remember Bob correctly pointing this out after he incorrectly identified a stuffed bear given to him by Jon Stewart, and then yelled when Stewart told him he was wrong. The thought that he could be wrong simply never enters his mind.
