There Is No Counterpoint

I challenge any wingnut to come up with a counterpoint to what the Secretary of State said here. Other than more loud noises, there isn’t one.

That’s beautiful. What did that douche Pence think Clinton was going to say? He teed it up and she smashed it out of the park.Fucking crybabies.

    hells yeah hill!

I have to say–I was dead set against her as SoS. She disappointed me in the campaign, and I felt the media’s Clinton obsession would be a distraction–But so far this had been a genius pick and a master stroke of political jiu-jitsu. I realize now that this pick actually disarmed the Clinton media obsession.

On a scale of one to ten, ten being the best, I give that a 9.5 on the bitch slap scale. The other .5 is being held back only because she didn’t literally slap the shit out of him after she made her statement.

JG -She was clearly the best person for the SoS job. This will become more and more apparent as time goes on. I was always an Obama supporter, my issues with Clinton were more based on the wrong wing than on Hillary. I remember what Rush et. al. did when Bill was president. I did not want a rerun with Hillary.Hillary is a very very smart Lady. I was delighted when she agreed to take the SoS position. She was my first pick for that post and it reinforced my opinion of Obama’s judgment.

Further proof that the way to meet the wingnut speakers is with MORE SPEECH.

Pence is a complete joke. He supports the teabaggers and claims government spending is out of control, yet supports dropping $10 billion a month in Iraq. He claims he opposes expansion of the federal government, but supports federal bans on online poker and stem cell research. A wingnut hypocrite of the highest order.

Senor Pence? How did that taste? She shoved then broke it off in his ass.He might be walking funny for a week or two.

Pence Smack Down!Gotta love it.Doesn’t Pence have another Tea Baggers Pity Party to attend?Sore Losers. Period.

I am a humble individual by nature. I do not go out of my way to disparage anyone who I do not believe deserves it. I must preface what I’m about to say because I have been humbled tonight. When the pre-Democratic primary gyrations began in late ’06-early ’07, I was enthused about the Dem candidates, Clinton and Obama, in particular. They were equals, in my view. Understand that I am a registered Independent, but I saw great potential on the Democratic side. To tell you the truth, I always do, but that doesn’t mean I always vote Democratic. Anyway, I know that the contest early on would be highly competitive, but NEVER thought it would stoop to being petty. That changed mid-August. I blamed The Clinton Campaign completely. I don’t remember exactly why, since it’s all water under the bridge now. But I recall myself entertaining the notion of voting for a Republican president for the first time in my life after taking umbrage with the sheer brashness of the Clinton cabal. They reminded me of the Republicons more than the genuine article, in fact. When Obama won the Iowa primary, and the…latent PUMAs, I suppose, were talking up John Edwards in attempts to stop stifle Obama, I saw through the act, and knew that these people were losing their damned minds over this contest. The goodwill that I had at the start of the season was devolved into a sheer hatred for the Clintons’ shenanigans, which were encouraged by our swine media benefactors. I can admit now to being impressed with Clinton’s…blinding ambition (talking up her questionable foreign relation accomplishments, taking credit for the ‘good’ things the Clinton administration did, etc.), but not impressed with her relying on idiotic, Republicon-like tactics. When the Micahigan/Florida debacle went down, that was IT. I’d had my fill of the dreaded Clintons for all my life. I didn’t care if they rotted somewhere, the both of them.I always admired the Clintons, but I knew that they were a couple of…political creatures. To this day, I never doubted that once in power, they attempted to utilize their power to help everyone, not just Dems or Reps, or even Americans, but EVERYONE. You get me?I’m rambling and being a little hesitant…I’ve been humbled tonight by witnessing that clip. In one fell swoop, SoS Hillary Clinton dispelled all the ire I’d held against her. I now see that “fighter” that she was attempting to be during the Dem primary. I still believe she utilized her talents incorrectly during the contest, but I always knew she has a talent for speaking.Listen to the sheer precision of her words in the clip. She’s literally challenging the lunkheaded Republicon that is attempting to peddle moronic Republicon talking points at the hearing. She’s like, “Go on and pretend like you know more history than me like you idiots do to everyone on TV, and I’ll embarrass you right on camera, you idiot. I LIVED history, peon! I’m HILLARY-FUCKING-CLINTON, BITCH!”Such subtlety deserves recognition and a most hearty applause from ANYONE that appreciates a good smackdown.Yes, Lexaburn is humbled tonight.I finally see Mrs. Hillary Clinton as worthy of the WH once again. I knew she had that in her. It is much too bad how this whole affair played out, but she did lose the contest fair and square. She did not half to offend folks like me in the process of pursuing the damned goal.Seriously. As emotional as I was during the primary, I always sought a reason to go back to trusting the Clintons again. This clip gave me a reason to trust Hillary, at least. It looks like the ‘catharsis’ she sought last year relly did work. She seems completely OVER all the drama last year and the year before. My goodness is she good in that clip.A weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.I did not feel…right about looking down on either of the Clintons.Wooh! What a feeling!I need to rest.

Now THAT’S the Hillary I was looking for during the primary. What a kick ass team! Brillant!Oh and well said Lexaburn.

Lexaburn -That was fucking awesome. Thanks for sharing.

  • Mike from Boston

What Lexaburn said. God Bless You, Hillary Clinton.

That’s what pragmatism gets us, folks.

  • Diane

How can the republicans continue to be hypocrits. We have film of Bush kissing a saudi Prince. All the way back to Eisenhower, Republican presidents met with our “enemy”.We would not have any sort of relationships with Vietnam, China and the Russia.Think what today would be like without that!I thought Hillary would have been a great pick for President, but oh how wonderful she is in this job right now. WHat a team we have after 8 years of hell.

I’m sick of this shit. Chavez is not a dictator and he is not anti-American. He was elected twice with a free and hostile press and gives oil at reduced rates to poor places in the US like Harlem. He is against the interests of American elites, meaning he nationalised the oil industry, so is tarred as the second coming of Pinochet, who America actually supported, death-squads and all.He was also victim of a failed, American-funded coup under Bush, so please forgive the man for not wrapping himself in the stars and stripes every time there’s a camera around.Venezuela is, in fact, many more times truly democratic than the US or any other country in the entire world, bar, maybe, Bolivia–also on the US’ dictator/socialist radar. To learn more, read the book Hugo by Bart Jones or watch the documentary War On Democracy–found of Google Video. Thank you.

  • Richard

The look on his face was priceless. What an ass-hat.

  • Burbank_Ben

One word: OWNED.That clip needs to go viral.Pass it around!!

  • A J

Hillary is so good that it would take “charts and graphs” to adequately describe just how good!!As others have said, how do these Re-thugs keep living in this world of hypocrisy and denial???My brain hurts just thinking about it.

  • Frateloder

If only Hillary and her “people” would use their REAL BRAINS WHEN THEY CAMPAIGN. This clip is proof positive of just how fantastical she is when she hasn’t put on her “look how excited and happy I am” crazy clown face on and forgotten how to be herself. If her foot wasn’t so full of self-imposed bullet holes she’d be unstoppable.Wow did she do us all proud, though. In just a few minutes she cleaned up most of my resentment from her campaign. Remarkable.

  • slouch

Wow, he just got so MODED! A keen sense of reasoning contributing to a major smackdown! Pence, just nodded and said thank you, then went home and bit his pillow!

  • http://www.sixtyftsixin.com fightoffyourdemons

The only way that clip could have been better would be if at the end, someone yelled “awwww SNAP!” from off-camera.

  • Hector

Another stupid attempt at relevance by a Repug, and a another brilliant statement by Hillary. I’m proud to be an American again.

  • DC

Senator Pence has a point. Hugo Chavez is a lowly dog and should not be dealt with as if he were an equal to the president of the United States. To do so belittles the office of President, makes him look weak, and provides free publicity for that raving lunatic of a socialist state. If we come across as weak to the rest of the world, we are more likely to be put in a position where we have to use force to resolve an issue because our opponents have no respect for our intestinal fortitude. They will push harder because they don’t think we will push back. Just because Obama’s tactics are different from Bush’s does not mean they are right.

  • Lexaburn

Pence had no damned point. He was attempting to issue an idiotic soundbite that the swine media would dignify by playing over and over, but the plan was foiled by Secretary Clinton dissecting the folly of Pence’s faux fear-mongering. The crux of the matter was rendered moot when Clinton gave a rundown of examples of mingling with the enemy, including oh-so-subtly using herself as an example. What video were you watching?Whatever. I don’t know your motivation, but please, don’t try to convince anyone here that Rep. Mike Pence was doing something more than what camera-ready Republicons have been doing since late last year: bullshitting.
