The crap these people spew to rationalize immoral acts just blows my mind. I read some of the comments and it makes me wonder how people that dumb remember to breathe. I started to leave a comment, then figured why waste my time.

I went through SERE and it wasn’t like a hard practice session (football in HS and crew in college). There’s a technical term for anyone who has been through that training and denies the techniques used there are torture: liar.

The rationale of these people is so ignorant and arrogant.The comments at RedState are pretty close to the comments at Infowars. Complete insanity.

My favorite part about those comments is how people would say “Yes my child too was a swimmer. And they NEVER thought of their practice as torture!”and immediately follow with “WE ARE A NATION OF WIMPS!”It’s like they don’t even get their own brand of humor. They actually seemed to imply that liberals think swim practice is torturous?!

My own reaction was “WHAT?! YOU PARTICIPATED IN SOCIALIST TAXPAYER-FUNDED AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES?!!”

Yesterday I told veralynn that projection was the only thing that the wrong wingers do properly.I was wrong.The Greedy Old Pricks actually have core competencies in the following skills:

1. Projection: They have turned projection of their own faults onto their opponents into a high artform. They rule this ‘skillset.’
2. Straw man arguments: The wrong wing is the most fearsome and relentless slayers of straw men ever. They are the unquestioned leaders in this totally worthless skill. It’s a good thing that they are skilled in the strong man argument, because they have no skills whatsoever in honest, unrigged debate on real issues.

There may be others but that’s all I can think of now.

Silly me! Of course being on the high school swim team is exactly like waterboarding! Why didn’t I see this to begin with?As a matter of fact, I do recall seeing pictures of Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps being strapped down onto an inclined board with his feet higher than his head, while his swimming coaches blinded him, stuffed a rag down his throat and poared water onto his face, into his nose and onto the rag which would then seep into his throat as part of his training regimen. And what does he have to show for it? 14 GOLD MEDALS, BABY!No one rememners those pictures though. All we get is the bong hit photo – fucking LIBERAL MEDIA!Oh, the other difference between waterboarding and the swim team? You can quit the swim team.

I tried joining Red State once just to piss off some of the right wing quacks on there. Every time I tried to post something arguing against one of the wingnut’s ridiculous comments, they would ban me. It seems they dont think dissent is patriotic if it comes from someone who disagrees with them

Hey JD, we’ve seen this culture of hate before: when GHWB lost to that hick from Arkansas. It spawned an entire industry of angry talk radio/teevee. I agree it’s actually worse this time though. Probably because Obama’s, you know, “different”.

Man, I just spent 15+ mins reading that site (just the comments from that article). It does not inspire me. It really concerns me. Fuck, they really believe all that shit?? FUCK!!!!

That was unreal. My favorite? “We get waterboarded in SERE, it can’t be a big deal,” with absolutely no acknowledgment of WHY they waterboard in SERE. I know it shouldn’t but willful ignorance still amazes me.

Redstate is like a gated community for the willfully ignorant. Anyone showing an ounce of independent thought is immediately expelled.
