Fraud Is Fraud

Glenn Beck debating Scott Levinson of ACORN:

So Glenn Beck’s argument is that 20 bad employees out of 13,000 means there’s a serious problem with ACORN itself.

Okeedoke. I’ll accept that argument, if Glenn Beck will admit that all of the lies and inaccuracies and doctored videos that have been aired on FOX News Channel indicate a problem with widespread fraud on behalf of both the employees of FOX News Channel as well as the network itself.

Bob, I feel like some kind of voyeur of a mental brake down. Beck is sliding some more. The conservative side is slipping deeper into the La Brae tar pit of loony talk. This was a great example of non-debate. The more he refused to answer Levinson and let him finish a thought the sillier this became. Why do any thinking people even go on this show?

how about ALL of News Corp as well–

if that fucker had told me to pipe down or mocked my hand gestures, what i would have done to his ass on tape would be in the top 5 of youtube’s most viral videos.

I missed the part where this doughboy is suppose to intimidate people. If there are 4 million Americans that eat this shit up along with Hannity’s mustard comment, I believe it is time to start the eugenics program.Jesus Christ!!!I have been known to say things like, “I want my country back!” However, it is becoming more and more clear(college history helped) that this mythological country I believed in has never existed. We are making the country I and many of you want RIGHT NOW!. We have a lot of work to do stop people from believing anything from Fox NewsLike:”The poor little black lab that saved his owner’s life from the evil mountain.”Update: This was total bullshit and the dog started the fight and Ms. Kitty kicked his hillbilly ass.

If that wasn’t the most asinine bit of nonsense I’ve ever seen on FNC. I thought that shouting match O’Lielly had with GERALDO! was ridiculous enough, but of course, the paste-eating dork would top that idiotically theatrical confection. This wasn’t even a discussion in that clip. It was Speck attempting to make a moot point, failing, then resorting to acting like a lush at a wedding party. The clip speaks for itself. The moron is literally aspiring to be the smartest jackass on FNC in this clip. The ACORN rep really should adjust his demeanor when he’s on an FNC program. I’ve seen him shutting down the pretentious, Brainy Smurf-like Neil Ca-puto on that idiotic “Your Money” show not too long ago. The rep is very good at challenging the bullshit itself, but he needs to be more assertive. There are actually imbeciles out there that believe Speck was onto something with all the child-like gyrations and visual cues he was giving. They’d ask themselves, “Why else would Beck be bringing it up and playing like he knows something?” The answer is obvious to anyone that has been around guilty children. Speck’s acting like he’s a lunatic, but really, he’s just a boring dork conman with a big mouth, same as with Sean Vannity. Where Vannity is a blockheaded con-servaknave, Speck and O’Lielly are straight-up cowards. You have to treat these frauds as such by not giving them credence in the first place. State your case, but definitely do not follow the premise of their queries, which are based on the speculative gossip and delusions of insufferably belligerent dunderheaded partisans to begin with. All sensible people that appear on these dubious FNC shows ought to anticipate their hosts making a mockery out of discourse, and immediately shift to a combative stance a minute into the segments they appear in. This does not mean yelling and throwing a fit; it means simply highlighting the fact that the hosts are fraud-merchants.FOX Frauds often filibuster “certain guests” for a 30 seconds to a minute, then offer them 20 to 40 seconds to respond before interrupting them. Watch those interviews and you’ll see this again and again. If a guest is complacent and a bit timid, the dummies will turn into straight-up bullies. If the guest attempts to assert themselves, FOX Frauds will simply turn their mike off and play the victim, as observed in the clip.FOX Frauds are perpetually craven and do not respect actual discourse. FNC’s whole “discussion” format is offset by the “fair and balanced news” coverage the propaganda network doles out throughout the early to midday. Then, during prime time, guests are invited on the programs to discuss the merits of the bullshit the network peddles earlier the day, thereby dignifying the nonsense enough to cover it all as a phenomenon worth considering.Like NAS said, “Sly FOX.”

” However, it is becoming more and more clear(college history helped) that this mythological country I believed in has never existed.”This is the difference between us and them. They live in a mythological country, space, and time. We live in reality.

    JM Ashby,

They live in a mythological country, space, and time. We live in reality.

Every so often I run into a statement that is so utterly ironic that I laugh until I pass out.Thank you!

What Glenn Beck is doing is, in no way, remotely related to debating. Glenn Beck is bloviating false facts while pretending to allow Scott Levinson to make a point every once in a long while.

I fail to see the irony. Its pretty clear that the wingnuts live in an alternate reality where the opposite of fact is the truth.

Wow. I never watch Beck except for the clips on the Internets. Now I know why. I found it fascinating that he resorted to mimicking and mocking like an eight year old. “I know you are, but what am I?” What the fuck! This is what Fixed News pays for?! That was embarrassing.

  • rogect8

@Broadway Carl – exactly. And it’s not a one time thing either; that’s the m.o. over at Fox. My favorite is an old clip I saw of when Christopher Hitchens was on Hannity and Colmes. Halfway through Hitchens’ argument, Hannity started interrupting Hitchens by repeating things Hitchens had just said in an over-the-top British accent. They’re like dumber versions of little children.

“Shut off his mike.”I’m speechless.(As one is when one’s microphone is turned off to suppress any further speech.)

  • Amii

Beck’s premise is so ridiculous that anyone who accepts it that has an IQ higher than 70 KNOWS they are rationalizing.I do not include Beck in the above statement as he does not meet the IQ qualification.

So by using Beck’s rule of thumb, all Republican congressmen are gay sleazebags who solicit for sex from their teenage pages or anonymously in airport men’s rooms.

  • GlenCocksSweatyJowls

In another era Glenn Cock would be bundling up his flock of followers and moving them to the hinterlands of Guyana, before forcing them to drink grape koolaid. In a way, we are lucky this lunatic just gyrates like a apoplectic assclown on Faux News.

When I was in high school a bunch of guys in my class worked at Burger King and had a drive-up window scam going. They would pocket the money from about every fifth car at the drive up…OMG…could they have taken baths also?

Beck is just following FNC SOP for dealing with intelligent guests who are able to make a strong refutation of their talking points:1. Bloviate as much as possible to eat up time.2. When it’s finally time to give the guest a chance to speak, interrupt him constantly with snarky remarks and try to browbeat him into accepting your framing of the issue.3. If the guest starts to asset his POV too strongly for you to talk over him, cut his make.4. After the guest has left, mock him and deride his POV now that he is no longer able to defend himself.Every talking pinhead on Fox “News” is trained on this technique. O’Reilly, Beck, Hannity, Cavuto, they all use it.And yes, Pooper, they live in a fantasy world. I prefer reality myself

  • AC

Wow. He really takes douchebaggery up a notch or three.
