‘And The Sun Sets in the West’

You may have heard this lie from the far-right already. Basically, they’re claiming that 80 percent of Judge Sotomayor’s decisions were overturned by the Supreme Court. That makes it sound as though a gazillion of her decisions were piss poor.

Not true. At all. Not even close. Rush Limbaugh is lying.

So, to boil it down to it’s essence. Rush says Sotomayor has been reversed 80% by the Supreme Court. We find out through various tortuous arguments that She has heard 380 cases of which only 6 have been reviewed by the Supremes. Of these only 3 have been overturned. So thats .8% are overturned. In the recent past The reversal rates for all cases heard by the Supremes are 61% and Sotomayor has been reversed 50% of the time.

In other words there is no there there, Rush is full of shit and the sun sets in the west.

    In any sentence the comes out of Limbaugh’s mouth, it’s not really the veracity of it – that’s too easy.The real game is in effectively…efficiently finding which of the nouns or verbs provides most solid purchase for proof.”I did not have drug-orgy sex with underage Dominican boys.”There were no drugs.They weren’t underage.They weren’t Dominican.It wasn’t an orgy – we were alone at the time.They were girls.The permutations of ways Rush can appear to say something he believes to be the truth while standing at opposite pole from the facts…someone should fund a study.

I don’t believe the bible, but he is about as close to the real description of anti-christ as we get: wraps himself in the bible to deflect his atrocious behaviour while beating others down.
