Congratulations, Huffington Post!

My other home on the blogotubes, the Huffington Post, won the Webby Award for Politics, and the people’s choice award for Blog – Political. Congratulations on the latter to Colin Sterling and especially my friend and Jedi master, Roy Sekoff, who is the unsung hero of that site.

    This is wonderful news!Congratulations HuffPo!

Great news, indeed! If it hadn’t been for me stumbling across HuffPo, I never would have made my way here and kept my sanity through the last year of the Bush Mis-Administration and the election of our President. Seriously, there were times when I thought I was losing my mind – y’all kept me grounded, encouraged and assured me I wasn’t the only one who felt the way i did.I feel smarter just by reading all of the comments here…… ;-) I think Bob deserves a Webby on his own!

I second that, Blue…………..even if Mr. Cesca and I disagree on the most perfect NP cd……..

    I hate that site.

BlueFanI agree with all that you wrote. I found Bob’s site through the HuffPo and though I have mostly lurked on this site – I was able to not only keep sane, but also laugh and learn a ton from all of you.And Bob, definitely deserves a webby!!

I will always be indebted to HuffPo for leading me here…but sadly, it really seems to be devolving into an online rag. Lots of misleading headlines and overly moderated comments. Its really a shame.

I like the content creators at HuffPo. They have many very good writers and reporters. However, the misleading headlines has gotten way out of hand. They are using headlines worthy of the National Enquirer and Star.Whoever they have doing moderation appear to have received their ‘fair and balanced’ training from Joseph Goebbels. The amount of right wing misinformation not being challenged in the comments is telling. Most of the people that know that these comments are loaded with misinformation have given up trying to post there. The moderation rules don’t have anything to do with the actual moderation and the actual moderation is all over the park. The same comment will be accepted on one article and deleted on another. They have a real problem that is not being addressed and it is only getting worse.

Delurking to say congrats, Bob!I only recently wandered over from HP (totally agree about the tabloidy-ness and moderation issues.) Keep up the good work!

Too bad HuffPo is now blocked at work, since they have started to show nudity.

Huffblows is NOT deserving of this, IMO. It is far too trashy of a MagRag format, and AriHuff is a well-connected socialite, whose infulence, not journalistic savvy, was rewarded.
