Doof Quote of the Day

“It’s also a well-know[n] fact that the homosexual lifestyle or homosexual practice is very unhealthy. Government should discourage it and not elevate it to a level by calling it marriage. In an age where we worry about people being overweight and going after them and the government interfering in that, what is the government doing promoting a lifestyle that is inherently unhealthy?” —Jim White of the New Jersey Coalition to Preserve and Protect Marriage

Someone’s gonna have to help me out on this one. Why does this guy think that being gay is unhealthy?

  • emPulse

Dearest Jim White,You should see what me an two strippers with a couple hits of ecstasy did in a hotel room in Jersey during the 90′s. That was unhealthy.

Go fuck yourself. All sex is dirty-look where its located. Its also true that the most sensual parts of the body are in front of the sex and anal chakra energy wheels in the spine and the throat. So get off your sterilized high horse and go make someone feel good.

  • jjasonham

Well then, Jim, I would think you, of all people, would do what you could to encourage MONOGAMY. Wishing away 10% (or more) of the population has failed.

How can recognizing reality and responding rationally to it be considered promoting anything?I am promoting the notion that the New Jersey Coalition to Preserve and Protect Marriage is actually the New Jersey Coalition of Bigoted Christofascists who practice intolerance of any who disagree with them. Mr. White is the evidence to support my claim.

  • GItheJOE

You know what is “unhealthy”? Taking a shit in a public restroom. I am calling Arlen Specter right now to have a Constitutional Amendment drawn up to ban public restrooms. Oh….and family gatherings.

Jim who? Of the New Jersey what? Some asshole trying to make a name for himself and his bigoted organization.Fuck ‘em.

rogect: they’re using the fact that 25%-50% of gay teens have tried to kill themselves, the fact that a whole lot of gay men are on meth, and the fact that (in general) gay men have lower self esteem than straight men. (I leave out lesbians because these right wing guys never really seem to talk about them, to my knowledge. Not to mention that lesbians, generally, don’t do meth). The thing these people willfully don’t see is that the reason for all the above is them: if they didn’t spend so much time trying to convince every gay man that they’re disgusting and sinful, gay men (in general) would be less depressed. Then it would be a healthier lifestyle, and the right wingers wouldn’t have any “legitimate” reason to keep down gays.

This is nothing but a giant screaming display of homophobia and insecurity.

fe – your explanation makes sense, and actually reminds me of the two gay guys I knew during high school. Both were pretty troubled…might’ve had something to do w/ the fact that one went to a pentecostal church, and the other (literally) had cheeseburgers thrown at him by other students.I was also thinking it might have to do w/ the (completely ridiculous) idea that AIDS is only a problem within the gay community. You never know what tired old bullshit these types will throw out like it’s generally accepted knowledge.

Exactly how is the government “going after” overweight people? There are so many of them (me included) that the government wouldn’t have time to do anything else. Republicans just get crazier and crazier.
