The Fire Eaters

All of this from the people who supported the anti-government tea parties. In other words, the people who want government out of our wallets seem to be demanding that it be jammed into our bedrooms. And they have action figures to prove it!

The hypocrisy is astounding. You’d think that the evangelicals would be more concerned about the overwhelming number of heterosexuals in marriages committing adultery. Because you see, committing adultery is breaking a commandment. One of the ten big no-no’s in Christianity. If ‘God’ was so angered by the thought of two men shacking up and putting rings on each other’s fingers he would have added this as the 11th commandment.Trying to somehow use gay marriage as the opening of the floodgates of other people wanting to marry multiple partners, animals or their siblings is preposterous. The floodgates didn’t get opened when the states allowed interracial marriages a few decades ago. It seems to me that this whole outrage over the potential ramifications down the road of other types of marriages is a smokescreen to try to not be labeled as a bigot or a homophobe.Seth MacFarlane said it best Friday night on Bill Maher’s show. The Prop 8 supporters will eventually lose. It may not happen tomorrow, or next week, or next year. But someday same sex couple will be given the same rights as heterosexual couples. It’s inevitable.

Even before I really followed politics, I never understood it when Republicans preached about limited government but then came out against private social issues such as gay marriage or abortion. And now that I follow politics, I still do not understand it.It is a constant contradiction of values.

This continues the total disregard for Law that we get from the American Zombie Talibangelical Party. They lie. Force them to admit they do not like the current constitution. They want the constitution changed to allow them to discriminate against Gays. There is no Constitutional Amendment needed to allow Gay Marriage. It was the Constitution’s Equal Protection clause that required Connecticut to allow Gay Marriage. The existing Laws that we live by require that we allow gay marriage. To deny Gay Marriage is to deny Equal Protection. It is just that simple. I am very tired of these bigoted ideologues trying to pretend otherwise. Their medieval superstitions do not get to override our laws. They get upset when we call them bigots. I get upset when they want the Law to be disregarded because they cling to some superstitious mumbo jumbo that tells them that Teh Gay™ are Teh Evil™. They are being called bigots because that is, in fact, exactly what they are.American Zombie Talibangelicals: Please run off and take your bigoted medieval notions with you. It’s 2009, not 1309. They really have gone retro. I expect the Witch Hunts to resume any day. They’ve already brought back the inquisition.

“I expect the Witch Hunts to resume any day. They’ve already brought back the inquisition.”I’m sure you do, paranoid one.Such an angry, ugly website, full of angry whining unproductive losers.American Zombie Talibangelicals. How childish. Still in your rebellious stages Ratface?

Git has it exactly right – no one’s changing any constitutions to allow gay marrige. On the contrary, it takes constitutional amendments to BAN gay marriage (see Prop 8 in CA). Which means, yes, that if you’re against gay marriage you’re against the constitution. And the whole “gay marriage -> polygamy -> incest -> bestiality” slippery-slope nonsense is, well, nonsense. Just like with the health care “debate”, there’s a really noticeable refusal to look at a little place called The Rest Of The World. Other countries have health care, we KNOW (or at least, we can easily learn) what happens when you have universal health care. And lots of other countries allow gay marriage too.You know Canada? That enormous thing to the north? Whole bunch of states actually share borders with it? They have universal health care, AND they allow gay marriage – what better model do you need?. And polygamy is illegal there, so is bestiality, so is incest.Whenever these Fox idiots start their slippery-slope horsepoop about all these issues that the US is so far behind on, I just want to scream “CANADA!” at them mid-sentence. Maybe point at a map. But not their map, which seems to have just one country on it.

“Democrat Socialist Party.” How childish. Barry Obama. How Childish. You and your kind set the bar at an all time low Yugo. You must be proud that the GOP can be more childish than anyone else.I notice that you don’t attempt to debate the argument. You just go right for the ad hominem. So typical of the Unamerican Zombie Talibangelicals. How does it feel to have Posner declare the GOP “Brain Dead”? Kaput: GOP Icon Declares Party “Brain Dead”I’m just tired of the tiresome vicious fascism of the GOP. A larger herd of unamerican unpatriotic gutless cowards has ever been assembled. The GOP Caucus: Such an angry, ugly group, full of angry whining unproductive cowardly losers. The Senator Linda Graham is a whining little pussy.Come back anytime. You have nothing.Try to prove that Gays don’t deserve equal protection.

Compared to the bigoted hatred expressed in the Video above, Yugo apparently only sees the anger when it is directed at his medieval superstitions. BillO the Clown is not exactly expressing Love thy Neighbor as oneself in that clip.Christofascists are such hypocrites. Homosexuality is an abomination, but eating pork and shellfish is OK. Pick and Choose. Pick and Choose. You don’t get to pick and choose which laws you like as you do with your religion.

  • CitizenJ

The last time we passed a Constitutional amendment taking aways somebody’s rights, it was repealed. Now Republicans want to try again. Classy.

  • http://www.xkcd.com/ ∇•B=0  Silly Ratfaced Git  ∇•D=ρ

CitizenJ -You have to see it the way they see it.But, but, they are gay. They are gay and I don’t have to treat like they are human. THEY ARE GAY.The last time I saw this sort of confusion was in the ’60s.But, but, they are black. They are black and I don’t have to treat them like they are human. THEY ARE BLACK.It the same sort of bigotry. They really think they are right and they don’t understand why we call them bigots. THEY ARE GAY! CAN’T YOU SEE THAT?They have deluded themselves into believing that Christ wants them to punish homosexuals. The fact that this is not true and actually contradicts Christ’s teachings not the least of which is “Judge not, and you shall not be judged,” completely alludes them. They’ve taken a religion based on the teachings of a man that said we should treat each other with tolerance, understanding and decency into a nasty fascist club they can use to beat people they don’t like with. They are not Christians. They are vicious and nasty small minded bigots.

“When I see two puffy white males kissing each other I want to puke.”Looks like Savage should stop inviting Beck and Limbaugh to his circle jerks, then.

“BillO the Clown is not exactly expressing Love thy Neighbor as oneself in that clip.”I don’t love my neighbor, either. He’s too damned loud when I’m torturing him. Wuss. What?

  • InspectorDim

Pat Robertson is concerned about “same-sex marriage among homosexuals”? Does that mean he’s absolutely fine with it if there’s same-sex marriage among heterosexuals? Also, I’m a bit slow, and I didn’t understand Glenn Beck’s demonstration with the toys. Who were his glasses supposed to marry, again?

  • Alex

Marriage between toys and glasses?!? This is an outrage! There should never be toy-on-eyewear matrimony. I’m thoroughly disgusted. Look at what gay marriage has brought about.

As an un-narrated spot, it really couldn’t have any other effect than to convince people of the stupidity of these commentators. I mean, if I wanted to make an ad that anyone could take seriously I would probably would have left out the ‘turtle’ quote. Ludicrious quotes backed by a ‘spooky’ soundboard?-I mean, where was the voice-over telling me to stop laughing?

  • http://americanrazor.blogspot.com Razor

Spoiler alert: when you support bigotry, you’ll be on the wrong side of history. Just like our treatment of the American Indian, our usage of slavery, suppression of women’s rights, Jim Crow laws, and the internment of Japanese citizens during World War II, the fact that we even needed to have this debate about gay rights will be looked back on with shame and disgust. Gay marriage will be legal in this country, hopefully sooner than later, but it will happen… You can’t stop social progress, those who try will always lose.

here is my take on thisthey are very good at projecting what they would do on to us. this “debate” is really them projecting that these kinds of “relationships” are what they really want to do, some version anyway.

  • http://wallenfeldt.com/blog Wally

Look, the only people pushing the “let’s marry lots and lots of small children” argument are the pasty faced, moist palmed freaks who, presumably, can’t WAIT to get their hands on some youngsters for some hot loving.Seriously, this isn’t even a straw man argument. You can see Beck and Robertson twitching in their chairs hoping this line of argument works.

  • rogect8

I like veralynn’s ‘projection’ interpretation. What Oreilley really means to say is: “What, so can I marry a turtle now? No, seriously….can I?”What Rush Limbaugh means to say is: “What about incest? I’d really like to try it; all my other wives keep divorcing me for being a limp-dicked whale…I think maybe my sister would stay with me for more than a few years.”Anyways…the most satisfying part of listening to them preach hatred is knowing that they’re eventually going to lose. It upsets me that because of them it’s going to take awhile…but the fact that their defeat is inevitable always makes me feel better.
