I REALLY wish MSNBC would just drop Fineman, Tancredo AND Buchanan from all of their programs. I especially don’t understand why David Schuster would want any of them on his program without taking them to task for their outdated ideas on how life should be in these United States. All three are living in fantasy worlds of their own ego-making and don’t contribute sanely to any conversations.

When will MSNBC wake up?

I don’t think this is even about stopping her nomination anymore. I just think it’s about poisoning the atmosphere with anti-Obama invective. They know they can’t stop this. The crap they’re screaming about doesn’t even rise to the standard of minor scandal, much less something serious enough to derail her nomination.Nobody thinks for a second that Tom Tancredo, Mitt Romney or Buchanan is a serious threat to her nomination. I think this is just about loud noises. It’s about filling the airwaves with a lot of bullshit about whether or not Obama can effectively lead the country. He’s not keeping us safe, he’s going to socialize the country, he’s packing the court with socialist Hispanic KKK members, blah blah blah I got nothing else blah fucking blah.And for whatever reason, the media is happy to give aid and comfort to a bunch of back-bencher bullshit artists.

My favorite part of that interview is that *most* crazy race baiting republicans when asked a direct question like, say, ‘do you think the Obama administration hates white people?’ would say ‘of course not, but…’ Tom Tancredo, on the other hand, just sits there with the gears in his brain smoking as they grind to halt, knowing he can’t say yes. But what does he decide on after the long uncomfortable pause? ‘I don’t know.’ But you know he knows what he wants to say because when he says ‘i don’t know’ he suddenly looks away. Major tell. I’d like to play poker with him sometime.

I had the EXACT same reaction, but a very, very, southern (okay redneck, maybe), gun lovin,’ white, conservative, 100% Obama supporter and voter, friend of mine who was eating dinner with me became so enraged that the “Three Stooges” were being discussed seriously on Hardball, that he launched into a fit of rage complete with obscenities combined in ways I’ve never even heard before, that I started laughing until I was crying and couldn’t stop.I think it’s safe to assume that if he had that type of reaction, it was pretty bad.How can the media be SO far out of touch with people and reality? It boggles my mind.

I caught the 5pm hour and thought the same thing – why are they giving Tancredo so much face time? Because they know he’ll say something inflamatory. He’s only on when there are issues of racism or immigration to be discussed.And their breaking news on the White House “walking back” the Sotomayor quote and the chyron saying WH says it was a “poor” choice of words pissed me off until I actually saw the Obama interview clip and realized that they distorted what he said. He never used the word “poor” if I’m not mistaken, and yet that word was in quotes. Obama defended her comments as we have all done when discussing it in context of her speech. It’s just another example of the MSM stirring the shit.On a fun note, it was nice to see Shuster slapping Tancredo around a little bit. How crazy does Tancredo look when he’s asked whether he agreed with Limbaugh’s insane assessment that the Obama adminstration hates white people and he answered, “I don’t know.” What a fucking freak.

@Jan, vera: I’m more pissed at msnbc for making such a big deal out of it. You know what? She probably would have chosen a diff. choice of words if she’d known how freaking crazy these people will be. But by putting so much attention on this comment by Obama, esp. since he backed up the actual arguemtn she was making (the one that’s been totally obscured) msnbc is just giving credence to the Repub line of attack when there is none.

Jan, the Dems are defending her. It’s just few and far between on the television machine because it’s not as exciting and controversial as getting a racist to rail against Sotomayor. That’s ratings gold!

@Bway Carl: I think the “poor choice” actually came from Robert Gibbs in the presser today, which frankly makes msnbc’s framing of the Obama interview even more annoying.

How did President Obama “walk back” the Judge’s remarks? They’re TELLING us he “walked them back”, but I didn’t hear it like that at all.

The Dems are defending her, but I have a feeling they’re gonna let the Republicans continue to alienate even more Hispanics and women before they get out there and push back in full force.Nano’s right. what has tancredo done to “win so much airtime” on cable news?you answered your own question.the more crazy and race baiter-ish he behaves ,the more airtime he gets.credibilty,common sense,intelligent discourse on a given topic etc…these things are mostly irrelevant in the world of cable news.if these were the traits which gained pundits more airtime 3/4 of all of them would immediately be disqualified.
