Overheard just now on Morning Joe…

While laughing off camera, Scarborough said that FBI interrogator Ali Soufan, who legally and successfully interrogated Abu Zubaydah and testified in Congress yesterday that the CIA’s use of waterboarding didn’t work, was exaggerating his role and is “jealous” of the CIA.

SCARBOROUGH: (Laughing) I’m sorry.

MIKA: Now we need to hear all sides. That’s what we’re all about.

SCARBOROUGH: We do. Even FBI agents who exaggerate, uh, their role, uh, in the war on terror and are jealous of CIA agents.

    Just for the sake of argument, let’s say the Scarborough had any credibility. With this statement, Scarborough has driven a stake through the heart of any reason left to believe that his is a non-partisan agenda. With all the evidence showing that Zubaydah’s information before he was tortured was tangible and that he shut down after the torture ensued, Scarborough resorts to assuming the reason for Soufan’s testimony is jealousy?! It just goes to show the idiocy of this pathetic man.

    There is seriously nobody they could hear from that would change their opinion at this point. If every single person involved w/ the program (including Cheney, Yoo, et. al.) came out and said that the program had been an abject failure, they still wouldn’t change their minds. It’d just mean more people whose credibility needed to be attacked.What’s that? The guys who did the torturing said it didn’t work? Well screw them, what the hell do they know?

    Wow. All the idiocy aside, why would an FBI agent be jealous of a CIA agent who needed an OUTSIDE CONTRACTOR to do his job?? On a related note, why the fuck do we need OUTSIDE CONTRACTORS to do our interrogations??

    One advantage of Twitter – I can express disdain for Joe in real time. He’s responded to me a couple times, but I don’t think he likes me much…He doesn’t handle disagreement well.
