Solid reasoning and logic! *gasp*Clearly you are on the side of the nazi appeasers Bob!

Sometimes, I read your columns and they are so sane and reasonable that I worry that I’m also in some sort of echo chamber where I agree with you because that’s what I’m supposed to do. But then I realize that sanity and logic aren’t propoganda, and I feel much better.

Great column, Bob. The Republican talking point that I’ve heard from, no less than 4 Republicans this afternoon, is this: “We can’t house suspected terrorists in our prisons b/c they will ‘radicalize’ the other prisoners.”Senator Kit Bond took it one step further by explaining that prisoners in American prisons can have visiters and “we can’t have the friends and family members of terrorists flooding into America to visit these folks, can we?”In other words, OMFG they’re Muslims, don’t you people understand they’re Muslims?!?!

  • ElMystico

That quote about ‘you can’t put them in prison unless you release them’ has been boggling all my boggle-able bits all day. What could it possibly even mean? It makes the kind of sense that’s not, and he ‘can’t make it any clearer.’ What a dumbass spineless idiot schlub. I don’t care if no one wants to challenge him in the primary…we can lose one seat to get rid of Droopy. There’s always New Hampshire, Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio, Florida, or North Carolina.

The prisoners in Guantanamo Bay are like the ghosts in the Ecto-Containment Unit on Ghostbusters. If you try to move them into another container, their ionization rate becomes variable, and they can escape into the air.Duh.

‘you can’t put them in prison unless you release them’What the hell does that really mean, anyway? I’d like an explanation, but I’m afraid my head would ‘splode from the mental gymnastics required.Brilliant article as always, Bob….unless you RELEASE them……UNLESS you release them……unless you release THEM……unless YOU release THEM…Oww

  • ElMystico

Lol, Ady. If we bring them here they could talk to people and then EVERYONE WOULD BE A TERRIST OMG?!?!?! Of course all it really takes to resist induction into a radical terrorist group is a high school education and a job, which most people have here. Also I don’t picture anyone on unemployment going…well on one hand, the government is helping me through this tough time, but on the other, Kaleid Sheik Muhammad says America, the place I live, is the Great Satan. Ooh…I should blow something up!I’m just saying, Republicans… I know ideas can be scary, because most of them are better than yours, but these guys…not going to capture the imagination of Americans, even most of the maximum security prison population.

Why do they think terrorism is so attractive? Do they really think there are tons and tons of Americans who hate America? I mean, I realize that they themselves hate America, so maybe that’s clouding their view, but still. As far as I know, our prisons aren’t sectioned off according to the crimes you commit (with the possible exception of rapers of children). Severity, yes; type, no. And yet we let murderers chat up burglars every day. And friends and family of drug possessors go to jails and sit next to the friends and families of rapists. And yet…

Not only should the president find the funds from somewhere else to close Gitmo, he should also publicly ask Harry Reid to oversee the planning of it’s closure.

As usual Bob, eloquent, witty and to the point. Thank you.

OMG. Terrorist would radicalize super hard core criminals? As if they weren’t radical enough already?Methinks the ‘nicest’ thing that would happen is they become somebody’s girlfriend, which would result in suicide. Detaining a terrorist in Supermax would be a death sentence.Good article Bob. I was thinking about Harry today while getting ready to transplant my tomatoes. My soil is extremely healthy. Put anything in the ground and it grows. That’s because I’ve got worms by the thousands.I stopped to watch one huge earthworm trying to ‘nose’ itself back into the dirt (they don’t like sunlight – kinda like Harry, huh?). It slithered forward and then it did an amazing flip backwards. It was practically airborne; but there it was, completely reversing directions in a split second and already was a half body length ahead of where it was heading just a split second before. I don’t even know if I’ve seen snakes do this kind of flip.I bring it up because Harry is like that worm: spineless. I’ll leave it at that because worms have many positive attributes that make them far more worthwhile than Harry.

Bob,G Bay lock-down is paradise compared to what these terrorists would face in US highest security prisons.Get real. Peace.Regards,Dan
