Of course, they edit it for the funny but it’s still interesting to see how some young people “think”. Guess the wingnuts will never completely fade away.

Those aren’t real young people, they are kids going to college on mommy and daddys credit card, smoking shit and flunking out.Pretty funny though.
Umm,You do get that this is a Comedy Central production, right? They wouldn’t have scripted any of this; their journalistic integrity is far too important to put in jeopardy by reporting anything but actual, live, interviews. Right?Bob?Right?I love Stewart, but I think you’ve swallowed his sarcasm a bit deeply. Why, Bob, do you hate Arizona State so much?Remember, these are young students. Maybe not knowing that Hamilton was never President is forgivable. What is not forgivable is having a Vice President who didn’t know that FDR was not President during the stock market crash, AND that national television was just a FEW years away. Why do liberals find that they have to attack everything and everyone who does not do what they demand? It’s so High-schoolish. So cliquish. So pathetic. And so sickening after the ten thousandth time seeing it.You guys need a new playbook.

“Actually, I’m being told she needs quite an extensive introduction.” Hysterical.ppp – We need a new playbook? Your comments are so predictably contrarian I don’t know why I still bother reading them. I could save a lot of time by just assuming you said “Careful Bob, I wouldn’t want to think that….”, and then asked a few sarcastic rhetorical questions.

I tend to somewhat agree with PPP. Watching dopey college kids is not that amusing. The point of the segment, I believe, is that the media caterwauling on President Obama’s behalf over this supposed snub is worth a grain of salt, and just another example of the swine attempting to fuel bullshit controversies. That or they really are that demented to believe the “honorary degrees” are valuable. I’m thinking the former, but for a few of the dorks, I suppose it’s the latter. Also, I believe the piece was not ‘attacking’ the students, per se, but the institution itself. It appears that the only thing separating that school from a shunned community college in a decrepit rural or urban area is the checkbook of the average student’s parents. Judging by the clip, ASU’s quite a lofty cradle of scholastic goal-setting and achievement.P.S.Stewart was not featured in that piece.
rogect8,Bob likes to call me contrarian as well. I guess that’s part of what it means to disagree around here. However, if you pay attention, there ARE certain issues I wholeheartedly agree with Bob about.Like, torturing my neighbors, aborting partially birthed skunks, and carrying an M16 as a somewhat realistic halloween prop.Seriously, what’s contrarian about that?
PPP -Plus you always maintain your sense of humor when under fire.I salute you, contrarian.

PPP: No, those segments were not scripted. Part of the genius is there ability to elicit serious responses from absurd questions.Much like Jay Leno’s Jaywalking segments, they probably edited them to highlight the dumbest responses they found. My guess is that most of their interviewees came from the school’s young republicans club.

Let me fix that statement for you: What is not forgivable is a Vice President who knew that what he was participating in was illegal but chose to do it anyway and is still advocating it. Of course, since he got away with doing illegal stuff as part of the last administration he was SecDef for (Iran-Contra) he knows nothing will happen to him this time either.
