J M -Yeah, don’t miss KO. It’s a relatively long essay that will take at least five minutes to read or longer. I got breaks since I foolishly read five pages one at a time with long load times between pages. I am pointing to the article as one big page.

I second the scary part ceu-took me back to the day of the bombing in Oklahoma City. I didn’t like the direction we were headed and still can’t believe it took killing all those people to stuff the movement then. I don’t like the idea that that didn’t end the movement.

I saw it because you said it was a must read when I check last night’s PTT this morning. I saw you posted the link again on the first thread after Morning Awesome but I had already read half of it by then. I waited until now to post it again.We have seen the denial of facts and reality in our trolls. Fascism is left wing. Black is white. Up is down. etc.I am concerned about violence and have been since march. We’ve seen this before. Rush Limbaugh stepped up the incitement talk over the apce of a year and then the Oklahoma City bombing took place and he backed right off on the incitement talk. He should have been prosecuted then, He, Beck, Savage and others should be prosecuted now. The Pittsburgh paper said that bookmarks to Beck and Limbaugh incitement to violence clips on YouTube were discovered on his PC. The MSM has suppressed that story.Expect something nasty somewhere in the U.S. withing the next few months. Probably August. It will be right wing extremists. Then we can ridicule Fox News and the others that gave Napolitano a hard time.

Vera – Show me some rational republicans. I used to buy into the idea of there being some rational ones, but I’ve given up on that. The only way one could associate themself with the current republican party is through equal irrationality.

They will immediately stop talking about buying guns and ammo, building bomb shelters, doom bunkers, and militia compounds in Idaho. They will pretend they never said such things. YouTube will receive requests to remove any clips that show them saying such things and that will all disappear.I’ve seen this before. Pre-YouTube though. The audio files of Limbaugh were not disappeared from the net because Limbaugh didn’t learn about the net until later. The clips from his shows that incited violence were on about 7 ftp sites. They may even still be there.

I don’t know where they are JM, but there are a lot of them that we aren’t seeing. We are only seeing the same crazy ones…maybe they are in the closet.

The criminal conspiracy was all encompassing. Everything done by BushCo was all part of the criminal scheme to steal from the the treasury. If we investigate the torture issue, it will lead into all of the rest.They are afraid that America is not ready to hear that their government was run be criminals who robbed us blind. Somehow they think it is better to pretend it never happened. I don’t believe that is true. We need to know exactly what happened so we can prevent it happening again. Pete – Probably because not a single republican politician has come out against the crazyness of the likes of Limbaugh and Bachmann.To me this says that they no longer represent the rational. They represent the crazy.To me it also says that any rationaly minded voter could no longer associate themselves with the republican party. They would be independent.I believe this will be shown very heavily in 2010 with people switching their party affiliation before the midterm election.

hielo -I am now of the opinion that Sestak should run against Specter in a Dem Primary. I think that will happen. Polling indicates that Sestak would defeat Ridge or Toomey. Right now Specter beats Toomey but loses to Ridge. If that does not change, Rendell will have a primary with Sestak and Specter.Specter has not behaved well in his first week as a Democrat. I did not expect that. I think his age has gotten him. He would not have made these mistakes four years ago. Perhaps the brain tumor did more damage than was let on.

Git – I just read that essay by Sara Robinson. It was pretty informative and the first half basically describes the current GOP to a t.I dont think there is enough courage out there to go through with actual revolting though. I think outside of a couple random wackos going out shooting like the guy in PA, most people have become too reliant on being consumers. The recent happenings in Texas is a good example of this. He talks about seccession and then the following week wants 40k tamiflus from the government and texas gets more back in taxes than most states. Theres too many dependence and consumerism for them to have the courage to actually act out their crazy movement.

I’ve worked hard to keep this nym unassociated with my real identity. I posted some stuff critical of a competitor in 1996 using a nym easily traced to my real identity. It cost me a job when 4 years later I applied for a job at a different competitor and they cited my article that was critical of a competitor as a reason to not hire me. I’ve been much more careful since then. Freedom of speech does not apply to corporations so it is never a good idea to publish anything critical of corporations using your real name.

I had great respect for Goldwater, Dirksen, and Buckley.The Republican party has been taken over by fascists who call themselves neoconservatives. They are neither new nor conservative. They are the same old fascism under a different name.They are destroying the republican party. I am not happy about this at all. In spite of being a liberal, I relied on conservatives to keep us in line. Now the republicans don’t care about balanced budgets, they only car about low priority stuff like making abortions illegal.I hope the conservatives and moderate republicans can either regain control of the republican party, or create a new conservative party and let Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck continue destroying the republican party.You know it’s time cut Rush loose when he declares that he wants Gen. Pete -You will be welcome. We have an independent that posts here regularly who is somewhat conservative. He claims to not be a libertarian although his position aligns well with many free market libertarians. He is certainly a fiscal conservative.We have a few other opposing viewpoint posters that keep us honest. mmortal02 is one although he hasn’t been around in a while.We can always use folks who want to support an opposing viewpoint in discussions. Everyone learns from it.

Yes its pretty intense and its a lot to digest but very much worth the time. Reading through that was really the turning point for me way back when he first made it in 2007. I looked at the world through different eyes afterward. Even if its only 90% correct, or hell 50%… or even 20% its enough to make you see things more clearly.
