That this seems to be almost an accepted possibility, requiring ongoing protection of the president, alarms me. This way, it seems like the election, and therefore the tension, is never ending. When does America get a chance to relax and enjoy/critize intelligently its government?

The program pays benefits of more than $300,000 to the survivors of a safety officer killed in the line of duty.

There were 133 police officers killed in the line of duty last year, the lowest amount since 1960, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

A budget of 60 million allows for paying out $333,333.33 to 180 police families. Considering that they only payed out to 133 families last year, it seem to me that the budget is still too big.As a fiscal conservative, having a budget double what you need is a travesty. Obama’s budget people should be applauded for being able to do math. They allocated a budget of 150% of last years costs. Keeping it at 300% of last years costs would have been criminal. I wonder what happened to the 80 million not handed out last year but in the budget to be handed out. That’s the question you idiots should be asking.Keep trying.
