When I was a kid in El Paso we had a cyclone drop a carport roof on our house. Texas weather is sumpin’ else.Breakfast was fresh mangoes and steamed buns stuffed with beans and coconut. And a big cup of non teabagged green tea. Great hippie in China breakfast.

I love Pete.. Since it is his 90th I had to do a tribute to him this weekend. It was so great to see him up there doing a tribute to Pres. Obama.. You know I think Perry has lost his mind.. first he wants to become his own little country.. Now he wants US to bail him out and is going overboard with the Flu response.. closing schools, canceling all athletics, canceling May Day celebrations, asking for more meds, wanting more docs for help and he has less cases than NY or CA.Now, it’s coming up to Hurricane season and just wait he will sitting with his hand out for that too. And if you check the site all the time he was saying he wasn’t taking the Recovery dollars, he had applied for them the day they became available. So, all the while he was saying No I am not taking them he had already sent his letter to Pres. Obama asking for them.. he was just saying no to try to look good for the others…I guess he figures no one in Texas that he is trying to impress is smart enough to check that stuff.

I still refer to him as shrub most of the time…lol it just always seemed to fit.

I have always thought he and Palin made a pair.. they have a lot of the same mannerisms and it seems their thought processes are alike. Neither of them have ever made a mistake in their lives, it is always someone else who messes up, and they are always the victim.I am not sure if they were separated at birth or if she has just modeled herself after him because she thinks that’s what she needs to do.

I wonder about that as well.I understand the shrub. He is a faultless overpriviledged fratboy of wealthy family. I have known so many of this type and he is pretty typical. Yeah.. from what I remember he was.. at least he wasn’t as rabid as this bunch is now.. Said he died just a little while ago this evening.. Had been dealing with cancer for a while.. I wasn’t aware of that.

He was a congressman when I was a page. I remember him being a decent guy. I never agreed with him, he loved st ron, but he treated members from across the aisle with the respect that newt and delay crushed out of the party.

There is something that many old school Republicans had that is totally lacking in today’s crop, and that is decency. They may have had different opinions and outlooks than I did, but their core values were sound. Many of them, if they were in Congress or the Senate now, would recognize that our country is in crisis, and would do what they could to help remedy the situation.What passes for a Republican today is a bigoted, mean spirited, lying, greedy, narrow minded sack of shit that isn’t worth a gram of smegma.

Does anyone actually know a Christian that acts like Christ? I only know just one Christian Chinese person here in this atheist’s paradise. My wife refers to her as the Jesus Lady. Jesus Lady gave my wife a bible. She got about 10 pages into Genesis and could go no further. As far as she is concerned Christianity consists of “kingdom come kingdom come”. Her ten year old son likes to use the expletive, “Jesus crazy!” I love this country!

I have this lady on my FaceBook who is supposed to be a “Christian”.. I posted to my page the gallup poll about the popularity of Pres. Obama with all different groups, religions, ethnicities and stated something to the effect I was glad we had a popular President and that everyone really liked him. She made a really sarcastic remark.. I had to laugh.. thought how “Christian” of you…lol

emsique -I know many Christians that actually follow Christ’s teachings rather rigorously. You’ll never notice them because they mind their own business and are not out making a fuss over what other people are doing.I certainly don’t have a problem with any of them and my joke about banning religion was just a joke.The ones we find annoying don’t realize that their behavior tags them as ‘Not Christians’ regardless of their claims.
