Stupid Pundit Tricks

Pat Buchanan repeats the tired old line that record cold temperatures in several cities means there isn’t any such thing as global warming.

Uh-huh.

You know what else, Pat? A terminal cancer patient has many, many healthy cells, too. That doesn’t mean the patient is in remission.

Wow… Besides the gift of sublime profanity, you also come up with some really good analogies…Kudos, Mr. Cesca.

It’s all good, the climate will get so volatile that we’ll die of famine before burninating to death. And while this global famine is killing off the human race the Republicans will be standing there saying “See? No global warming.”

I see this whole thing as the failure of people to understand how science as a process works. The bulk of the evidence supports man made climate change. There are always studies that have evidence to the contrary. There are studies that have evidence that fast food has no effect on obesity, too. I wonder how Buchanan et al feel about those.

Jenski, I saw a dude yesterday eating a Big Mac wrapped in lettuce – we need a giant piece of atmospheric lettuce!

Pat Buchanan is a dinosaur. He is trapped in the 1950s and can’t get out. He has nothing to say of any relevance to anyone. He should not be on TV for anything other than an example of a nearly extinct species of arrogant ideologue.

That’s why it should be referred to as climate change, not global warming, although the overall trend is warming. But it gives the ignorant or those in denial a slender twig to cling to. Try telling the Eskimos and polar bears the climate isn’t changing at a drastic pace. By the time George Will and Buchanan come around, we’ll all be ankle deep in water (if you live near the coasts anyhow).

Excellent analogy, Bob. I so wish someone would tie Buchanan to a chair and explain ocean currents and how warm air rises and a few other things he should have known as a fifth grader.

    Elena,couldn’t agree more.
