The ‘Keep Terrorists Out of America’ Act

Seriously. The Republicans are introducing this as an actual bill. Sargent:

The political game plan, obviously, is to tie Obama’s closure of Guantanamo to the idea that its detainees could come to a community near you, in order to sow fears more broadly about Obama’s foreign and anti-terror policies. It’s also designed to pressure Congressional Dems, particularly in red states, to distance themselves from Obama’s policies or risk being painted weak on terror.

But looking at the details, I don’t see anything about pedophiles. Why don’t the Republicans want to keep pedophiles out of America, too? Why are they carving out legal protections for pervs?

Do people not understand there are murderers and rapists–and bombers, I would imagine–released from jail in this country EVERY DAY?

If they were really interested in keeping terrorists out of America they would leave. The Republicans have done far more to terrorize the citizenry than Al Qeada has.

This is the same crap over and over and over and over.No Gay marriageNo healthcareNo green energyWeak on terror! Its a broken record repeating itself.More Republican loses in 2010 coming right up.

OF COURSE! Dammit. Why didn’t the Democrats think of this? It was staring us right in the face. Keep terrorists out of America. I’m going to call my local congressman and insist he bring legislation to the floor called “Keep Idiots From Opening Their Pieholes Act.”

Hey Git – If you’re around, question for you: Is xkcd YOUR site or do you just like it so you link to it?

Oh man. Why can’t the Republicans think of halfway decent names for their bills? I mean, come on. “The USA Patriot Act”? “The Keep Terrorists Out Of America Act”?As David Rees has said: Remember, GROWN-UPS thought of these.

There’s a maximum security prison in Montana that’s willing to take the detainees now. Isn’t Montana a red state? Why can’t the GOP take the idea of protecting this country seriously rather than trying to turn everything into a political hack job.

Elvis -Not mine. Randall Munroe is the culprit that does xkcd. I am a geek and like his humor since his sense of humor is almost identical to my own. Not many people appreciate jokes about applied math so he is one of the sole source suppliers for those. Most of his humor involves observations about our culture, particularly net culture. This is one of my all time xkcd favorites. You have to admire the way Randall thinks. He also uses the alt attribute of the img tag to provide an extra punchline on mouse hover.

Oh, Carl of the Way Broad, I love you even if you and your beautiful wife won’t let me stay at your house…*Calling congressman to state support for “Keep Idiots From Opening Their Pieholes” Act.*

As an American, I would like to add beck, hannity, savage, malkin, o’reilly and other lying republicans to the list of terrorists. They should be banned for the good of all.

My favorite explanation of the ridiculousness of the “concern” on closing Gitmo. From Mr. Stewart.http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=216571&title=guantanamo-baywatch-the-finalI particularly like the Lockdown reference. Because it’s so fucking true.
