We’re cleaning out our crap in a big community yard sale today, then I’m seeing Star Trek with my brother this afternoon, so sporadic blogging today.

Thankfully, your party is shrinking(because older bitter evangelical whites are dying) and you are pushing away an entire generation of people. Yes, you can raise your children in a good Christian home and home school them to keep them away from black people, but one day they will go to college. Yes, you can send them to a Christian college(not accredited and won’t get a job) but they will still be away from mommy and daddy’s titty and start to think. Once thinking starts then comes questioning. As soon as the questioning starts, DEMOCRAT!!!! Sorry, but the true Messiah is the Flying Spaghetti Monster, RAmen, and a flying space god is obviously more powerful than your walking human god.

    What is this bullshit story about Obama slashing police death benefits?Police are state and local budget. The federal government has nothing to do with what benefits are provided to police. EIther provide a link to a story about what you are talking about or shut the fuck up.You are the same assholes that were having kittens over the DHS warning us about right wing extremists two weeks ago and low and behold a right wing extremist executes a Jewish college student in CT.Looks to me like the wrong wing’s core competency is being wrong about everything.     rogect8,hearing you loud and clear on the time management issue- learning to skim over and ignore troll comments- also, amen on the raptor jesus. You know, the altruistic, forgiving Jesus of the Beatitudes just doesn’t cut the mustard when your up for some Chuck-Norris-round-kick style religion. You gotta spice up your faith a little bit..On a serious note:Obama is coming to Weimar and making the pilgramage up the hill to Buchenwald, where apparently his Uncle had arrived as a soldier and bore witness to the tradgedy there- so horrid were the conditions there, that thousands of prisoners were dying from starvation and sickness over weeks after the camp was liberated… he’ll almost surely be flying into Erfurt, where I’m living- unless he decides to rent a BMW and cruise up the new Autobahn over the Thuringen Forest from Munich. I wouldn’t blame him. There’s hardly any traffic on the A73, it would be a hell of a time with a fast car ; )

    gypsy -Yes. What is not apparent from the photo is that the plane is on a course to take it over or nearly over ground zero at an altitude much lower than is normally allowed over Manhattan. The only place in NYC that you see planes that low are at the airports and Shea stadium (and now the new Mets stadium with a corporate name). Planes flying low over Manhattan are very rare and almost always bad.

    Dan – the only problem now is figuring out which of the two of them is the true savior. I side w/ the dinosaur, and offer this advice – hide your sins well, because raptor jesus knows how to open doors.I scared myself for a moment thinking that pic might be real. Then I started cracking up when I saw “Leviathan Green” and “Behemoth Blue.” Although of course it wouldn’t surprise me if the picture itself is taken from an actual children’s christian book of some kind… I have after all had the distinct displeasure of visiting a creationism museum in Pensacola FL, in which men are in fact depicted as riding dinosarus (saddles and all)…so almost nothing would surprise me anymore.I hope you get to see Obama when he visits… or at the very least, that he doesn’t try to give your Chancellor a massage while he’s there. I still haven’t seen Obama in person. Instead, during the campaign, Joe Biden came to speak on my campus. And lucky me, the crazy SOB is coming back to speak for one of the graduation ceremonies.

    I can’t see Star Trek until next week. While not a Trekkie myself, I got interested in the movie when I heard J.J. Abrams was directing and then got even more interested when I saw him on Colbert confessing he wasn’t a Trekkie either. I’m looking forward to what I hope is something of a new perspective on the franchise. A fellow I work with saw it Thursday night on IMAX. He is a Full On Trekkie and said he was hoping for great but got very good. Also, he did not recommend seeing it in IMAX and was going for a second viewing on a regular big screen.That said, there’s a thread I can’t read this week!Everyone enjoy the show…………

    Nah. It’s all just satire, parody, and comedy to me. I’ll ridicule anything. Including myself.I’m trying to work out how to work a Raptor Jesus into a congregation of Gumbies for maximum hilarity. It’s nearly impossible to see the Raptor Jesus doing anything other than having the congregation for lunch. I don’t think that even Rob Zombie could make that scene funny. You’d have to have something like the Raptor Jesus’s animator having a heart attack a la Holy Grail and that’s been done.

    hielo -Raptor-Jesus is a play on the evangelicals and their notion that the second coming is nigh. They have this notion (from those stupid Left Behind books) of Christ being an avenging angel coming back to settle scores.This image of Christ is perverse at best. It is contrary to everything a real Christian was every taught about Jesus and his teachings. They pale in comparison to todays nutcase ‘Conservatives’, and Merkel is quite moderate among them, but still.. I’d be voting SPD and Green Party if I could.
