Democratic Low T

Tom Daschle thinks the president should drop the public option:

“We’ve come too far and gained too much momentum for our efforts to fail over disagreement on one single issue,” the Senator and one-time HHS Secretary nominee said, according to ABC News.

This “one single issue” is the whole point! Otherwise we’re just pumping a trillion dollars into the shitty, corrupt system we already have. Goddamn. Is there not a single Democrat with some balls to stand with — hell — 76 percent of the American people? Is it really so difficult to go along with a super-majorty of the people?

I can’t believe some of these spinelss bastards who faint at the slightest indication of a Republican tantrum — despite overwhelming popular support for the public option. Just staggering. Someone send Daschle a pamphlet about low-T.

And this guy nearly became the HHS Secretary? I never thought I’d be glad that someone didn’t pay their taxes.

Bob,We stand ready to welcome you into the freedom that being an Independent stands for.I was hopeful that the two parties (or the Democrats, at least) would do the right thing. As I look back, I wonder how I could have lost my marbles like that.Maybe it’s just because I am recognizing that although President Obama is an honorable man, he’s probably the only one in Washington. I feel like he has been hung out to dry by his own party, and as shameful as it is, both parties seem to be selling America out for a few health insurance donations.Like I said the other day. If we had $10 Billion to donate, we’d soon see just how easy it is to buy an entire party (or two), and no one would question why suddenly, single payer healthcare had passed. Everyone would know that the highest bidder had won.

Actually I dont think Daschle lacks balls. I think he has simply been bought and paid for.”dont let it fail over 1 issue” thats the words of the lobbyists whistling in his ear

Another gutless, castrated Democrat. This is EXACTLY the type of issue to spend political capital on. And this guy was almost HHS Secretary? Pathetic.Don’t forget, Daschle caved after the 2000 Election as well.

Wasn’t Tom Daschle hailed as some hero for writing a book on health care reform? Correct me if I’m wrong, please.

    >>>We stand ready to welcome you into the freedom that being an Independent stands for.Sorry, no.

Knowing that such a large majority of Americans want something that congress is likely to deny them is the most perfect, most disgusting illustration of how democratic our system truly is; or how representative it truly is I should say. We can’t even win when we win.

I concur with PPP on this. The Dems are as notorious for being chickenshits in my circle, as the Republicons are for being malicious. It’s why in my first presidential election almost ten years ago, I voted for Pat Buchanan after registering as Independent. A foolish declaration of independence to be sure, but I knew Gore was tossing Clinton aside for boneheaded reasons, and that the Dems were paying more attention to scuttlebutt than to any real issue they were supposedly running on. I knew Bush was a ne’er do-well that failed in every business he’d been involved in, and I knew his talking up the military during the campaign (as well as the capital punishment record) meant that we would be at war by the end of his first term. During the recount debacle, I knew Bush would strongarm his way into the WH, and the Dems would cave to every single demand he laid before them. This is getting ridiculous. President Obama has to take these drastic steps to engage America due to the fact that the GOP and the Dems are too busy playing like contestants on Survivor or something, with media dorks like Matthews and O’Lielly giving color commentary. Shit should not be this asinine in the 21st century, but it is.Now this Daschle situation…I’m not going to give up on President Obama, but the Dems are playing a game of Hot Potato no party at this point aught to be playing. It’s like they don’t want to take responsibility for things in case they go wrong. They’re saying “Let’s not try anything because people may get mad at us like they did the Republicans.” Dumb asses need to understand that the reason the Republicons caught hell is because they were bunch of incompetents that did not know how to govern efficiently, yes, but it was also due to the fact that they steamrolled their way over everything. Dems are doing the exact opposite, which would be getting flattened by stationary obstacles that they come across. What the hell is going on here with the Democratic Party!?

“One single issue.” Like it’s all a debate over whether to suggest Advil or Tylenol for headaches. Yes, Tom, one single issue. The issue being whether heatlh care actually gets reformed!!I almost wonder if it would have been BETTER for him to be HHS: you’re much more directly accountable to the prez if you’re a part of his cabinet than if you’re a Senator.

What a spineless piece of shit Daschle is. Yes, I’m glad he didn’t get the job. I’m so sick of these idiots. I myself have not had health insurance since 2001. It’s getting to the point where I’m thinking, what would happen if everyone who has insurance cancelled it and just went to the emergency room every time they got sick. I know it’s not rational and while I’m healthy, I know that for most people with children or elderly parents this just wouldn’t be possible. I just wish there was some way to bankrupt these fuckin insurance companies. As for Independents…who’s the leader of that party? Joe Lieberman? I stick with the Dems and continue to kick them in the ass until we get the healthcare we need!

I logged onto the fox news website as I do a few times each day just to see what the trolls are up to and saw a story that just screams with irony. I pulled a few paragraphs but you should check out the entire article if you get a chance.Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele accused ABC News and anchor Charles Gibson of making President Obama’s case for “nationalized” health care “without any opportunity for opposing views to be aired, as a new study shows ABC offers widely favorable coverage of the president’s plan. Some conservative bloggers are calling for people to boycott advertisers on ABC.Rick Scott, chairman of Conservatives for Patients Rights, is pushing ABC News to reconsider its ban on issue ads.”It is unfortunate — and unusual — that ABC is refusing to accept paid advertising that would present an alternative viewpoint for the White House health care program,” he said in a statement, noting estimates that potential legislation costs at least $1 trillion oftaxpayer money. Are you kidding me? Rick the douchebag Scott. Hey Rick, Michael Steele and the rest of the idiot Republicans! We already know where you assholes stand on healthcare. You’re on tv every fuckin day telling us! These people are so ignorant. If it’s just the 20% that is their fucked up party, ABC will do just fine with the Democratic consumers and all of the networks have larger ratings than all of the cable channels. They seem to forget that there are still more people who don’t have cable than do.Now, here comes the irony:”All Americans who are opposed to a major media arm becoming a visible branch of the presidential political machine” should use the marketplace to voice their objection, one blogger wrote.

That’s not the reason. He couldn’t care less what the Republicans think.Tom Daschle is a wholly owned and operated tool of the Health Insurance Lobby. He’s an honest politician. When he’s bought, he stays bought.

Gee, I guess there wasn’t enough copy space for them to include the 76% of us who want a public option. No, they only care about the 1 Trillion in taxpayer money. By the way, anyone who believes ABC is playing favorites, check out their statement below:But ABC News spokesman Jeffrey Schneider told FOXNews.com that it has been a “longstanding” policy not to accept “advocacy” ads.Schneider explained that the policy was established decades ago and only local ABC affiliates air issue ads.”Local stations have different standards,” he said, adding that ABC News refused to air Obama’s infomercial the week before the presidential election in November because it did not meet the station’s standards.I’m so glad that this has been their policy but, anyone who thinks ABC is shilling for Obama must have missed the debates where George Stephanopolus asked Obama a question that he got from Sean Hannity when he appeard on Hannity’s show the Friday before the debates. Not to mention the countless garbage we’ve seen from him on This Week!

Bob et al, there is one Democratic leader who has the balls and is standing strong..Nancy Pelosi.. She came out again today and said there would be nothing coming out of the house unless it had a public option in it.

ABC News’ Dean Norland reports: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she has every confidence that the health care bill coming out of the House will have a public option.“I believe for us to have substantial health care reform, this has to be a part of it,” she said during a news conference Thursday.”We will have a public option in the House that will be real. If it’s not real, it’s no use doing. And if we don’t do a public option, I’m not sure we have as effective a public healthcare reform as we wish,” she added.

Love her or hate her she is standing strong on this once again and is standing behind what the President and what the polls are showing that the public wants.http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2009/06/pelosi-house-bill-will-have-public-option.html

Just curious, Lexaburn. How do you feel about that vote now?

“Just curious, Lexaburn. How do you feel about that vote now?”If you’d have read the following sentence, you’d have an idea of how I feel now. Please do not attempt to make a moot point at my expense. The way I saw it, if I’d have voted for Gore, Bush, or Nader, my vote would have been wasted, and I’d have not have made that, at the time, personal statement. I knew exactly who I was voting for, so I was not that naive. I also knew that if Gore hadn’t won by a big enough margin – say 52% – the results would be put under scrutiny by the bitchy Republicans. The fact that the opposite side of a scratched coin went down did not surprise me in the slightest, especially with obvious spoiler Nader (a hand-me-down version of Ross Perot) in the race. I was in a certain mindset back then. I believe I’ve explained it all here before, but it was obvious to me that the Democrats were ashamed of Bill Clinton for dumb reasons and did not know what they wanted to run on. Meanwhile, the Republicons felt entitled to the WH for the simple fact that their candidate was actually running on nepotism, pathetic fawning over the military (which was suspicious at the time), a shabby record as governor (and everything else he was), and the fact that he had no real scandals other than being the so-called black sheep in his clan.Don’t be too surprised if people lose patience with the Democrats and decide not to go out to vote in the next round of elections. The Dems really are playing not only with fire, but at the deep end of a pool, as well. They’ll be both burned and drowned by their own cowardice. Republicons have no qualms about forsaking their so-called principles, which are completely pliable, and therefore, do not exist. Democrats are the ones with the finicky loyalists that are forever teetering on the edges. Don’t ask me about my vote for Buchanan 8 years ago. Ask a few people – Independents – whether they’re regretting their vote for a Democrat or a Republican in the last 6 years. I’d bet you’d be surprised with some of the answers.

Oh, if someone could tell me how to do that cute little thing with the quotes being put into the nice little boxes, that’s be swell, K, thx.
