I have had debates with with wingnuts on this and honestly the conclusion I came to is that anyone who does not toe the right wing line completely is the liberal media. Any comment that could be considered something a liberal believes taints it to an unacceptable degree for them. They always point out individual incidents and never look at the big picture. Hence, through direct experience, I am forced to believe that any time someone mentions the liberal media it is a tipoff that freedom of speech or variety of ideas is not something they believe in.

Sorry to state the obvious:…Controlling the message is not just a phrase lifted from The Big Dick’s visit to MTP. Controlling the message is basically the key to repub politics. Since before the 1980′s, attacking the messenger has been more fruitfulthan actually Having a message.Media manipulation was taken to a new level under the bush misadministration.Goebbels would be proud of rove, cheney …the whole criminal clan.Apparently in America, If you say something often enough, it somehow becomes a ‘truth’So?Keep telling your believers/minions that the media has a large liberal bias -and obviously anything they report that makes conserv’s look bad is being reported Just For That reason -to make conserv’s look bad.On the other hand, if what is then reported makes the Dem’s look bad, well then it must be Really Bad if the “liberal” MSM is reporting it, After all, the MSM is liberal and doesn’t report stuff that would make the Dem’s look bad if they could avoid it, right??By controlling the message and attacking the messenger, nefarious shit like torture and nuclear bunker busters become everyday topics while issues like intel cooked to corroborate propaganda, forged documents, illegal wiretapping and subversion of the American Constitution become conspiracy theories.
