Doof Quote of the Day

“In the end, we need to compete, as I’ve said before, we need to compete in each and every kind of forum. And whether it’s on the ground traditionally, or today it’s in — it’s in the ethernet.”
—Norm Coleman

Ethernet? I think he means “series of tubes” or “internets.” Whatever.

Word of wisdom to the Republicans. If you want to “compete” on the internet, you might want to learn what it’s called first.

It never ceases to amaze me how out-of-touch many elected officials are.

Unfortunately for Republicans, their politics is a lot like religion, they lose when it’s written down and people can look it up. The internet will never be their forum.

The Republican future is in the ethernet? No wonder the party’s been struggling! The Democrats have been wireless for years now!

This from a guy whose idea of ‘competing’ is to refuse to admit defeat when he loses.

Ethernet is the name of the cabling for most high speed connections, just for the record.

Ether is what Norm Coleman’s head is full of.Ethernet is the name of a physical layer network protocol developed by Bob Metcalf at Xerox PARC. It was first developed on fat coax cable, then thin coax cable, then unshielded twisted pair cables.

Thanks, Norm! Where would we be without the Repubes to give us cool names for the internet? Hey look at me, I’m ETHERTUBING!

It never ceases to amaze me how far down the learning curve so many of our members of Congress are. Especially, but not restricted to, the GOP side of the aisle. How is it these twits claim to represent us, when they seem to know nothing of the world we have to deal with daily? Must be nice living on whatever planet they live on, but it pisses me off that they spend so little time keeping themselves informed about what constitutes reality for their constituents. Their NON-RICH constituents, that is.
