Doof Quote of the Day

“Americans don’t want more government in health care.”
—Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC)

Americans don’t want more government in healthcare. Except the 72 percent of Americans who do.

But of course Republicans would know exactly what America wants, seeing as they speak for a whopping 21% of its people. The Democrats in the Coalition of the Unwilling to Defy Their Corporate Masters are there purely because they’ve been bought off. No way can it be due in part to fear of these clowns.

We want the public option and we want politicians from South Carolina to shut up for awhile.

It’s not just politicians from SC..I think it is Republicans in general. Everyone of them say the same thing, people don’t want government between themselves and their healthcare.. well I am on Medicare, have been for 6 years now and let me tell you I have no problems with it.So, ask me do I have a problem with Government getting between me and my healthcare? NO I DON’T!SUCK IT POLS!

I’d rather have the Government between me and my doctor instead of the for profit health insurance industry between me and my doctor. And before any trolls say “what about the DMV?”, let me just say “US Postal Service”. I don’t know anyone else who can get a letter across the country in four days for $0.42.I would take a Medicare public option right now if it was available, just so I wouldn’t keep lining the pockets of the CEO’s.

I think he is confusing his 30%er supporters with the majority.

Just watched Senator Dick Durbin on Ed Schultz. Durbin told Ed that since Senator Byrd and Senator Kennedy are sick and unable to vote, the Democrats will need to get support from some Republicans on healthcare. Ed suggested that the Dems should just put their 57 votes up against the Republicans and dare them to filibuster. Ed said that we progressives would just roll the dice and that in 2010 there would be 38 seats up for grabs if those idiots filibustered. Short of doing that, my fear is that to get Republicans on board they’ll have to waterdown the bill or worse, implement that stupid ass and useless coop bullshit! The Democrats had better think about jamming this down their throats or prepare for a serious backlash!

For us, the public plan is the deal breaker! If they do manage to get healthcare done and the economy starts to pick up by the 2010 elections the Dems could pick up even more seats. I saw Chuck Shumer on one of the cable shows and he said that with think 67 Senate seats you could change the rules of what the majority is. That is, you could make 51 votes the majority which is exactly what it should be. This would not only be fair but, mathematically correct. Let’s hope if all goes well that this can be something to shoot for. At the rate the Republicans are going, they’re giving us huge assists in the scandal department.
