Here we go. Frank Luntz’s memo, that’s his memo on how to kill health care, came out in April. It says – talking point number five – “Health denial care horror stories in Canada and other countires do resonate, but you have to humanize them. You notice we recommend the phrase ‘government takeover’ rather than ‘government run’ or ‘government control.’” Why? Because government takeover sounds even scarier.So what did we hear in the chamber from our minority leader just recently? I quote – “Americans are concerned about a government takeover of health care and for good reason.” And it goes on. So recognize that that is a point that’s coming from a document about how to kill health care, not a responsible debate about the plan we have in front of us.

    Crap like this is why it irritates me when Bill Maher drags Luntz on his show. Luntz has no interest in debating policy on its merits. He has no point of view to advocate, just a desire to shape terms of argument to misdirect not only political opponents, but the people as a whole.That said, the evil bastard is brilliant, in a sewer rat kind of way.

    Merkley for Majority Leader, I say.We need more senators/representatives like this to fight the good fight and actually stand up for their plan or healthcare reform will end up DOA in Congress.

    Ashby -I voted against Lieberman so I know how you feel. I’m still not used to my new set of fools here in FL.Skippy -I agree. Merkley makes Reid look like the underwhelming and deficient leader that he is.

    AMEN KLAUS –> about Bill Maher having Luntz on his show & being all nicey-nice with the guy, he needs to stop.
    This healthcare fight is the most important thing happening right now, if the Vampires running the insurance biz win – everybody is F&^KED. How can these multimillion dollar CEO compensation package parasites expect to get their feed on when fewer and fewer people/businesses can afford to sign up to be drained? Do they think their business practices are sustainable? Just because a good amount of that blood money gets plowed into making politicians obedient and loyal servants – it doesn’t mean these gluttonous monsters wont eventually run out of victims who can keep paying.
    Bill Maher can be all chummy with Ann Coulter if he wants (she merely calls for Liberals to be put to death) she’s ridiculous and has no real power to seriously harm anyone – it’s easy to ignore her. Frank Luntz and the Insurance Industry have the power to inflict horrible pain and suffering on a few hundred million Americans (and future Americans)if they win their battle against making the healthcare system work like it needs to, like we desperately need it to – it is such a huge threat that Luntz can’t be forgiven or given a chummy pass for being on the wrong side.
