Holy Moley

California is really seriously screwed.

All of the Republicans who can’t wait to see what it looks like when bailouts are refused and a major clusterfuck ensues are about to get their wish. And I don’t mean that sarcastically. The refusal to raise taxes while killing social programs will result in the ultimate supply-side nirvana: Super rich people stepping over the bodies of poor people.

Well it’s been fun, California, but that is my cue to flee the state as soon as possible. This is a sad state of affairs that has been an ongoing problem for many months now. I honestly do not understand how something like the state budget can escalate to this level. Could you imagine a private business having this type of fiscal problems? It would shut down quicker than you can say Circuit City.

I’ve been telling my husband it’s time to pack up and leave the state we were born and raised in – and love. It’s unbelievable to me the state of affairs we’re in. I understand how we got here, but I can’t understand how it was allowed to get this far…..

You would have thought California would’ve learned first time around that film star governors are really bad news. Especially for the economy.

You know it is going to be Pres. Obama’s fault for not giving them a hand out to help them cover their short fall. Of course, Palin is sitting there just waiting for it to happen so she can say I told you that’s what he was going to do.. She made a speech a couple of weeks ago saying that the president was just waiting to grab these states that were falling short on budgets ..It’s going to be an interesting ride for sure.

Perhaps they need a ballot proposition that the top .1% of wealth holders should kick in the $25B shortfall. If they make it look like another random proposition where the majority gets to deprive a minority of their civil rights no one will notice the budget part.

I’m trying to remember, can someone help me? Wasn’t it President Obama himself who wasn’t sure if it was possible for the Federal Government to bail California out? I could swear we were just reading about this around May the 20th. I don’t recall anyone in California refusing a bailout, but I may be mistaken. This is simple to fix. To make up for a budgt shortall, a State has to agree on a budget, and issue bonds with Wall Street to cover the shortfall. California’s credit rating is garbage, though, because they typically do not have a budget done months into the new year. This isn’t the first time California has been gridlocked like this. The solution is for the Federal Government to underwrite the bonds, sort of like a guarantee. Jesus H Christ…there’s going to have to be bonds issued anyway; why is this such a hard thing to do?The Republicans and Democrats need to start learning how to work and play well with others, and get this budget resolved. These people are like fucking spoiled children.Don’t you just want to bitch-slap every last one of them?

From my understanding its usualy the minority GOP party in california obstructing budget legislation everytime it comes up.The downfall of democracy I guess. But is it really democracy if the majority says Yes and then a minority says Filibuster? Is that really democracy? Or just lunacy?
