I can’t take a comment about Letterman ‘raping’ someone with his mouth seriously from people whose favorite pastime is teabagging.On a serious note, as a woman the increasingly casual use of the word rape really bothers me. There is nothing, nothing that anyone could possibly say that would ever equate to the second worst violation (after murder) of a person. I’m worried that it’ll end up desensitizing people to a horrible, soul-scarring crime. That woman ought to be ashamed of herself, but she probably had her sense of shame surgically removed a while back. That is, if she ever had one to start with.
