Probing for a Spine

Another fascinating number from the NBC/WSJ poll. These are the people the Democrats appear to be afraid of:

25 percent hold a favorable view of the Republican Party, which is an all-time low for it in the poll. 45 percent hold a favorable view of the Democratic Party.

So here we have a public health insurance plan which 76 percent of the American people support. The Republicans, who are against the plan, have a 25 percent approval. And the Democrats, meanwhile, don’t give a rip about the 76 percent who want it, they’re afraid of the 25 who don’t want it.

Seriously, I want to know how many Democrats were bought off by which health insurance lobbies. Because it’s really difficult to accept that even with a plan that enjoys 76 percent popular support, some of the Democrats could actually be this spineless.

Interesting. Looks like it’s time to call & email my Democratic Congresmen (as well as those from ther states) to get their asses in gear. I think I’ll also light them up on DOMA/DADT while I’m at it.

Seriously, I am very angry that these Dems are not presenting a more forceful approach to this issue. And, now with this new poll showing 76% of Americans in favor of a public plan the Dems should be shoving this poll in the Republicans faces and state clearly and unequivically that they are going to follow the wishes of the American people. I’ve been trying to figure out what we can all do to light a fire under these sleazy fuckin “Blue Dogs” I have a list of the Blue Dogs who are in the pockets of the insurance companies and the amounts they’ve taken from these vultures. I’m going to start calling them daily to let them know that we’re well aware of who their siding with and that we’re going to organize some fundraising of our own to buy ads in their markets to let their constituents know who they really represent. I’ll tell you something else, I’d love to see that poor woman who was mauled by that bear in California come out and tell her story. Maybe on Oprah, GMA, and the Today Show? At this point it couldn’t hurt!

Sorry for the delay but, I was watching Countdown and am now watching Rachel. I found this on the dailykos back in March in a comment which is posted below along with the list:FROM THE DAILY KOSWe have to preemptively contact this group, and make clear that if they obstruct Health Care Reform in particular and Obama’s agenda in general there will be consequences. Personally I promise to not only not contribute and promote opponents in primaries, but to campaign for third party candidates as retaliation to any obstruction or watering down the public option in Health Care Reform. For me that’s a line that if it is crossed you are not just a conservadem but taking a right from me and my children and by denying Health coverage you are close to crimes against humanity.Call their offices and email them making clear that Health Care reform is a deal breaker and that you will support the opposition in any election they go to if the block or obstruct HealthCare reform.by Iberian on Thu Mar 26, 2009 at 07:38:29 AM PDTJeanne Shaheen ($997,310)Mark Udall ($1,669,706)Blanche Lincoln ($1,671,292)Tom Carper ($2,160,628)Mary Landieu ($2,399,134)Mark Warner ($2,431,066)Ben Nelson ($2,667,406)Bill Nelson ($3,056,968)Evan Bayh ($3,987,896)Joe Lieberman ($9,981,924
