Public Option Polling

Some more polling numbers about the allegedly “controversial” the public option.

Lake Research poll from March:

73% of voters want everyone to have a choice of private health insurance or a public health insurance plan while only 15% want everyone to have private insurance. [...]

What’s more, the preference for a choice of a public or private plan appeals to everyone — Republicans (63%), Democrats (77%) and Independents (79%).

63 percent of Republicans want a public option. Contrary to what the obviously bribed congressional Republicans and Blue Dogs (as well as some talkers like Steve McMahon from Hardball) are saying, the public option boasts overwhelming bipartisan support. Everyone wants this.

However, there’s one poll — predictably by conservative Rasmussen — that’s an outlier. Every other poll I’ve seen so far shows overwhelming support for the public option. Except this one.

Rasmussen only calls elderly Klansmen. True story. (As true as any story on Fox.)

As far as that Rasmussen poll is concerned, there’s a big difference between, “Do you think there should be a public option available?” and “Do you think you should be required to buy health insurance?”

The Mother Lode, politically, is the Independents in that poll, topping both parties at 79%. If the Far Left would just Shut The Fuck Up and give the president some room to maneuver, they’d see he’s slowly but surely pulling independents towards our camp while making Republicans look like the Fuck You, Sickos! Party.

Elvis touches on exactly what I’m seeing. The more vocal far-left voices may, in fact, be fucking everything up with the constant crusades.I suppose the far left is so used to ot having a steady leader that they don’t know when to be quiet and build a true consensus. Maybe some of them want to be seen as oddballs. Better for notoriety in some of their cases, I suppose.Small victories lead to a better foundation which lead to a stronger infrastructure.
