Super Majority

The new CBS/NYT poll on the public option:

cbs_nyt_public_option_poll.jpg

Just look at the independent number. 73 percent support for the public option! Comparable with the overall number. You know what’s less popular than the public option? Baseball and football.

So why aren’t politicians on both sides embracing the public option rather than trying to kill it?

Oh yeah, I forgot.

They’ve been bribed and bought-off by the health insurance lobby. There’s seriously no other conclusion. Listening to remarks from members of Congress, the talk radio maniacs or the cable news people, you’d think the public option was more dangerous and controversial than late-term abortions.

Adding… Don’t forget to watch Stranahan’s new video.

UPDATE: Bumped.

Jake Tapper from ABC got an earful or eyeful lol on twitter earlier between asking about the ice cream meme and then someone asked him why no one was talking about the 73% wanting the public option and it wasn’t in the news. Then some others picked up on it.. so it is getting talked about in places..enough? I don’t know.

@Annette: Noticed that too. If he brings it up in the MSM, I will be even more impressed with Twitter than I have been in the past week. It could really change the way this country works–after all, the whole problem with healthcare (and our system of gov’t in general) is only big-time lobbyists have access. Same with the MSM. But, in the eagerness to seem with it, they’ve really embraced Twitter, which has made them FAR more accountable to the People than they’ve ever been before. (See: CNN suspending reg wknd programming to cover Iran this wknd.) Should be interesting.
