Super Stupid

I’m watching Chuck Grassley on This Week.

He’s a phenomenal moron.

I mean, he’s as dumb as a bag of rocks. I would wager that if the camera panned down, his shoes would be on the wrong feet. Who do you suppose is assigned the task of putting a cork on his fork?

He was just asked about the CBO report on the climate bill showing that by 2020, energy costs would only go up on average $120 per family per year. Grassley countered by claiming that his internal numbers (made up) show $3000 per family per year. Then he said, whether it’s $120 or $3000 “is not the point.”

Huh? Is that the exact point he was trying to make?

He doesn’t really know the point he’s trying to make, except that he’s supposed to oppose the bill because, well, it’s just bad. Boo!They try to scare the public with big numbers when it comes to alternative energy. They say if we switch to the awesome idea of using fuel created from chicken and turkey knuckles, wind power or hydro-super-energy, it will cost more. More! You don’t want to pay more for gas and electricity do you? Why yes, yes I do. Because if I pay twice as much for gas/electricity made from chickens, I’m paying twice as less to have my armed forces protect the interests of a 12th century society and the shit beneath it’s feet. The whole idea is to move away from fossil fuels. It may actually cost more in the short term, but the saving of the money spent to keep a massive military presence in the Middle East, and let’s not forget the saving of the planet part, makes the increased costs worth it.And someone should ask that asshole how he felt about Enron overcharging for energy. I’m willing to bet he’d have no problem if industry jacked up the prices in the name of profit. In fact, he’d probably fight like hell to protect their right to gouge every one of us.

I almost choked on his other point, which basically boils down to: there is no point in the USA doing anything to reduce greenhouse gas emissions unless China and India do the same.Uh, I thought we were supposed to be the LEADERS of the free world ……….. you know, setting a shining example for others. Then again I read something like this:”Contaminated Treece, Kan., could soon be ghost town”http://www.kansas.com/topstories/story/871075.htmlNow, I’ll grant you that the worst of the destruction was done from the mid 1800′s thru the 1950′s, but if it were up to wonderful effing conswervatives we’d still be using lead based paint and asbestos insulation!Morons one and all!

If he were only super stupid, I wouldn’t worry. But, these guys are flat out lying and show no concern to make life easier for Americans.
