Taking On Health Care

by Lee Stranahan

Based in part on the great blogging and conservations with my friend Bob Cesca, here’s the first in a series of health care spots I’m producing independently. Please help spread the word.

Great spot, Lee.I am sorry you are uninsured. I work with small business owners as clients, and many of them are uninsured or held by the balls, as well. I just wrote a post on my blog describing one of them who just happened to keep track of how much money he spent on premiums, deductible, and what kind of claims experience he had for his money. If you want to reach conservatives, attack using the small business sector. Conservatives cannot stand it when we state that rising healthcare costs and uninsurability are killing small-business-America.I like to tell them that the surest way to Socialism is to destroy the small business sector in America, and no entity is destroying that sector more rapidly than healthcare costs, and private insurers.

Great ad as usual, Lee! I’m so frustrated about this whole situation I could join a mob with pitchforks and torches…. Just don’t know whose castles to attack: the insurance CEOs or our representatives in Congress.

Lee, I love the commercial, but what else is being done by the Left to get their message out to the mainstream? While these videos are great, the people who need to see them, won’t. You know, people who are working long hours, taking care of a family and don’t even have time to watch tv, much less find these videos on the internet.I’m not one to get panicky but I’m seeing too many articles about the possibility of health care reform not passing. I’m seeing many on the Left not even entertaining the possibility that it might pass and I am seeing spineless Dems backing down from the public option. My instincts tell me that this is just the natural process every time important legislation is about to be introduced. It happened with the stimulus. And these same kinds of doubts were rampant last year about Obama’s chances during the general election and the primaries.Still I am not taking any chances. I gave money to Organizing for America and just sent an e-mail to my senators and representatives in Congress. I plan to follow up with faxes to their offices. This weekend I will do my best to write a “letter to the editor”

I dugg this, and also posted on my blog (not that there’s a lot of readership on my blog but I did what I could!)BUT – I urge everyone to remember the energy and effort that surrounded the Obama campaign, because – it’s needed again.http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/health-care-action-center/?source=featureRebuild your networks, use the tools at Organizing for America. This is our first big figut since the election – let’s not let ourselves down.QT

BTW – at that link, there’s a fundraising drive – they are looking for 100,000 donors before the day is out. I can’t contribute today, but if you can, do!QT

  • Stranahan

I have my own fundraising drive. It’s much more important than Obama’s…http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/968679247/health-care-reform-videos1) Obama doesn’t live in a hotel.2) Obama’s wife isn’t pregnant.3) Obama won’t write a techno song with your name in it if you you give him $250. I will!

    Outstanding Lee. Thank you.

  • http://www.windonwater.net QueenTiye

LOL! OK, Lee. I don’t have $250. But if I ever do, I will certainly take you up on that.Meantime, I’ll try to publicize your link.QT

  • Stranahan

    I’ll take $5, too!But a techno song…that’s $250.(PS – McCain charges $5000 for a techno song.)

  • http://annette-justmylittlepieceoftheworld.blogspot.com/ Annette

Lee, I don’t have much, you don’t have to write me a song, I can’t afford 250, but I started you off with a little bit.. hopefully that will get it started and others will follow suit.

  • Stranahan

    Annette, thanks – you rock. It’s great…
