Pardon the cliche, but GM appears to be doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different outcome.

This time? Muscle cars! Balls ahoy!

    Well in their defense, the new Camaro was in development since atleast 2006 and maybe before. It will probably sell fairly well. Its actually smart to keep atleast one “muscle car” in their lineup because if they dont, they lose market share to Ford’s Mustang. If I could afford the insurance on one, I’d probably join the club of owners myself.However, displaying that in the middle of their recovery efforts may not be too bright of an idea. At the same time though, the Volt is really not that great if you asked me. Its ugly, its costly, and I don’t think it will save the company. I do believe people want more eco friendly cars, but they aren’t going to pay an extra $20,000 to own one.It seems like lose/lose to me, so they displayed the sexy car instead.

    OK, I was a true “mechanic” (fuck being an auto-tech), the V-8 is dead on the passenger car level! It’s stupid!That’s something that should be taxed like tobacco!Now, of course, there needs to be exceptions for those who NEED big vehicles. Like if you farm, yeah you need a full size pickup, maybe even a one-ton dually, but around here the vehicle of choice appears to be an SUV. Not out of need, but just because it’s cool!

But I guess thats not the point, it was to save jobs.Penske in Indianapolis is in talks to buy the Saturn brand, ensuring all the dealership jobs, and those manufacturing the brand. I guess the other brands, if the government wouldn’t have dropped 50 billion, would have just vanished!Make your troll comments, but this is painfully obvious…

    V8′s are deffiantly silly in anything other than a full size truck. You can get the new Camaro in a 6 speed V6 that gets better gas mileage than many fullsize cars though.Im very glad Penske is going to keep Saturn dealerships open and retain all of its employees. Im also glad of the stated goal to move the company back to what it was before GM took it over.Maybe ill buy a Saturn again when that happens.

    Once Saturns are free of “teh suck” that is GM, I hope the quality can return to what it once was.The only thing I have to say to Mike is that they weren’t making any money before the government got involved, so what is your point?

    Yeah, because there were just so many people lined up around the block who wanted to run a dinosaur like GM.Again, the government wouldn’t have gotten involved if there was somebody who could’ve made the company profitable.
