An awful lot of people don’t seem to realise is that ol’ Uncle Pat’s brand of racism is actually worse than a guy who shouts the N word at black people. Buchanan’s views are insidious – hidden under a cloak of reasonability and his lovable but crazy uncle persona. People are much more likely to fall for this than an ugly straight-up racial epithet.And that’s why Pat Buchanan should not be on television. Period.

What Allison and Skippy said!Both responses are simply PERFECT!!!!!And I’m too tired to think originally at this moment!! (tries to smile!)But, PB does make my skin crawl (nothing more attractive than an old GRAMPA bigot!!), as does his “motor mouth” siser! Blech!!!

He really does sound like a rutting pig. My least favorite rant of his during the campaign was “What’s The Matter With Barak Obama” Ugh! Each time he squeeled that line I wanted to stick pencils in my ears. I haven’t seen him on MSNBC lately. It’s too much to hope that they fired this asshole!

My least favorite is when he gets pissed and starts calling the president “THIS GUY”. Anyone remember his meltdown when Edwards endorsed Obama? Of course, the media started the “Will this help him with the white working class vote?” (which was a dumb enough meme), and then Pat FLIPPED OUT for an extended period of time, and Chris Matthews and Andrea Mitchell had to talk him off a clip. Andrea was like “Pat…the world has changed” and Pat swallowed uncomfortably and mumbled “No, it hasn’t changed that much”, and Chris started teasing him saying “Pat, I want to live in a world where my white son is able to date an African American girl without anyone batting an eye…don’t YOU want to live in that world?” Pat truly is a relic.

Buchanan was not on the McLaughlin group last night for the first time since I can remember. Didn’t catch why.Anyway, there were three reasonable people ganging up on that twit Monica Crowley and Pat wasn’t there to support her.Good fun.

Pat Buchanan should be doing Geico ads. The cave man they are currently using is far too with it. He is all up to date on social skills and norms. Pat is a throw back to using clubs to inflict your ideology on everyone.Buchanan the fossil. His tar pit is calling him.

Maybe I’m in a contrarian mood, but I’m glad for Pat, in his place. There are plenty of guys like Pat who are feeling displaced. Surrounding them by reasonable, loving colleagues who listen respectfully and disagree with him makes him part of the mainstream of humanity, a stand-in for a demographic that otherwise might turn into Von Brunn – a displaced old guy with a deathwish and a gun.QT

QT -In that regard, Rachel Maddow is very good for Pat. I must admit I do enjoy their sparring matches on her show. But then again, Rachel always gets the better of him and takes him to the cleaners, whereas when he’s on elsewhere on MSNBC, there’s nobody to call him out on his more abhorrent views.
