Wingnuts Gunning for Shep

They’re going after Shep Smith now:

Rush Limbaugh complained that Smith is “whining and moaning.” Atlas Shrugs’ Pamela Geller accused Smith of “scary stupidity” and being a “pompous elitist,” before arguing, “Shep sucks. And Shep has always sucked, and it’s time to get rid of the deadwood…. He has got to go.” WorldNetDaily responded by talking about an alleged auto incident involving Smith in 2000. An item on HotAir.com said Smith believes “his own viewership is teeming with would-be presidential assassins. If he truly believes that, why doesn’t he quit?”

So Shep Smith gets a lot of wingnut e-mails. And the wingnuts are pissed that he mentioned this. I wonder if the wingnuts will fire off more nasty e-mails calling for Shep to step down.

They cannot have any semi-reasonable voices infiltrating their propaganda headquarters. They may have to seek refuge inside Beck’s ironclad fear-chamber.

Between his responses to Katrina, torture, Guantanamo and now this, it was only a matter of time before they went after Shep. I’m amazed they actually waited this long.I’m kinda torn now – I’d still like to see Shep replace Morning Joke, but if he were to leave it would give the wingnuts what they want.

Shep has wandered too far from the herd. I guess it’s time for the thought police to put him down. For a group that claims to be all about individual responsibility, isn’t amazing how little individual thought is tolerated?

Just because Shep has a few moments of lucidity never let yourself forget he is still a right talker…lolI don’t know how he stands on other things for sure, I don’t watch Faux News, and have rarely seen him except for brief clips.. I did see the ones of him mocking Beck, when Chris Wallace told him to behave. Then saw the torture slamming desk shot that was great, however that was off camera as far as Tee Vee so really didn’t carry a lot of weight with the idiots that watch Faux News, and now this. That’s really not a lot of evidence to say he should be kicked off a right wing network do you think? Maybe I am missing something here.

Anyone familiar with the columnist Kathleen Parker? She appears to have had her epiphany after authoring an actually thoughtful column (This one if I remember correctly: The Palin Problem .

Her shock at the way they turned on her was something to see in her writing. She has moderated her wingnuttiness™ ever since.

brutly,I remember shen she wrote that article. The one after where she talked about her inbox was very good as well. She did not expect to be trashed so viciously.

Wait, but they are fair and balanced….The scale was tipped long long ago. No surprise here. One of the members of the Faux News talking heads will “out” him and then off he will go to another channel with a slightly lesser tan.”It is apparent Wingnuttia is full of hateful, eliminationists that are worthy of a DHS report…I mean NOT worthy of a DHS report *cough. “

Annette -Basically, if you’re a conservative and slip out of lockstep with the far-right just once, you are dead to the wingnuts, and they come after you with the fury of a pack of rabid wolves. That’s why I’m amazed they’re only attacking Shep now.

Yes, I know, but he just signed a pretty good new contract and Murdoch is too tight just to shell out the money without getting something for it…lol Besides look at the ratings gold they are getting for this, now everyone is talking about Shep is causing a stir because he is bucking the tide of the rest of the wing nuts. Hey, Fair and Balanced… giving both sides.I remember Kathryn’s Op-Ed very well..it was a very good one and one of the best she ever did.. they tore her apart..I think she was on Hardball right after she wrote it.

How dare Shep Smith be fair and balanced!

Here’s what I said yesterday:”Faux Noise has created a monster. I call it ‘The Teabag Terror.’ Shepard Smith is just the first of their televisual personalities to realize — out loud, anyway — what a horror they unleashed. Which makes me wonder: will the teabag parties scheduled for the September-October health care debate look or feel any different than April 15th? Will the astroturfers have to institute limits on free speech at events, or are they going to continue associating themselves with the fringe?”

Brut and veralynn –Where do you think Media Matters came from? They’d tasked David Brock with doing a hit job book on HRC and when he came back with “hey, she’s really not that bad” they jettisoned him. Once they found out he was gay, they really went after him. They feast on their own if they stray too close to sanity.

Just for the sake of making the conversation really fun, I posit this:Shepard Smith is simply playing the role of reasonable centrist in order to raise his own personal stock to some future end.Discuss!

Shep’s meltdown in New Orleans really got him noticed. He wandered back to the reservation and toed the line. But u can’t what he saw, be privy to the vitriol Fox encourages, foments, receives and holds in esteem from “OUR VIEWERS”, the lies the torture, the war…he’s gagging on it, as are we all. He has a conscience, and there’s no room for it in Rupertville.

I wonder if the wingnuts will fire off more than scathing emails at Shep. I’m just sayin…
