Lying Liar Palin Continues to Lie

Those “millions of dollars” Palin claimed were being wasted on lawyers defending her against frivolous ethics investigations? That money would’ve been spent on those lawyers anyway.

Steve Benen:

But there’s new evidence to suggest the argument is just factually wrong. Greg Sargent reported that the governor’s own office conceded yesterday that money used to respond to the ethics charges are part of fixed costs that would have gone to the same lawyers, whether the charges were filed it or not. The funds wouldn’t have to go schools, police, or transportation, as Palin claimed. The $1.9 million “was arrived at by adding up attorney hours spent on fending off complaints — based on the fixed salaries of lawyers in the governor’s office and the Department of Law. The money would have gone to the lawyers no matter what they were doing.”

Why is she so desperate? Why is she continuing to make stuff up? What’s she hiding?

Oh, it will only get better, Bob.Next: the rationale will change. The rationale will be debunked. Then it will change again. My take: Sarah wants to make a new career on the wingnut rally circuit across the lower 48 and pave the way to her coronation as party nominee in 2012. The pageant queen has a new panel of judges to impress and won’t be held down by the petty concerns of the 49th state.

I guess she just lies because she can. Not many people call her out. And even more scarey is her popularity seems to be soaring among the wingnuts.

I don’t think Palin truly aspires to the presidency. She’s had a mini-taste of that with her governorship of Alaska, and I believe she found that to be, simply, too much like real work. She seems to get off on adulation and money. She might go along with the role of nominee-wannabe for a while, but only to the extent that it serves to help her achieve her true goals.

Watch her body language and the look on her face as she was endlessly interviewed in hip-waders. She blames the press for all of her woes. If only they’d just let her lead the people of Alaska and let her thank the troops in those loopy, meandering speeches she gives and not criticize her down-home hayseediness, she would have been able to maverickly lead the people of Alaska and keep an eye on Putin rearing his head. And that will appeal tremendously to a small percentage of her fans that think she was doing just fine and was smart enough to be president but the big mean press and Obama and Joe Biden and that blogger and Jupiter being in the House of Virgo all worked as hard as they could to bring down a normal hardworking American that just wanted to help people! Her whole attitude is that she’s been run out of office by a vicious media that was totally nice to Obama. Like a good little martyr, she’s being persecuted for her beliefs that the constitution guarantees and also such as. Flexible. So fine. She’s gonna light her own pyre and show all of you! And fish, too.

Eric that’s totally spot-on….I don’t think it will be a big deal to her if this hurts her chances at the presidency, she just wants money and fame.I wonder if she’d be happy just being the nominee so she could tour in front of adoring crowds for a couple years, lose so she never has to do any actual work, and then write another book, rake in the dough and then get a show on Fox News.
