Totally agree about the sledgehammer. Everyone talking about opinion polls seems to forget a little poll taken nationwide, with around 60% of all eligible voters responding, sometime last November.Did that count, or are only the most recent polls worth considering?60 votes in the Senate. Do what you were elected to do, guys!

I read your post, Bob, and it was spot on. I also heard the representative from AARP interviewed on NPR this afternoon and he seemed really annoyed about all this fucking with the heads of the elderly regarding the end of life counseling. All it is supposed to do is pay doctors for talking about living wills, etc., rather than not having the time to talk about it at all. The AARP supports this provision, but of course, not all of the other provisions.One of the points made is that the elderly can pay a lawyer to discuss these issues with them or they can support the plan in which a doctor will be paid to discuss their own personal issues with them.
