Note to Congress, 7.28.09

Dear Congress,

Another 14,000 Americans lost their health insurance today.

Zero members of Congress lost their health insurance today.

And Max Baucus made another $1500 in bribes from the healthcare industry today.

Good job, Congress.

Bob

Say, when Max Baucus goes on his famous camping weekends, do you think he takes his bribes- I’m sorry, campaign contributions- in check form, or does he prefer the canvass bag with the dollar sign on it. It’s a classic for a reason, is all I’m saying.

I am so discouraged. I really thought we would get meaningful health care reform. Now I don’t.

One can only hope that the good people of Nevada and Montana get rid of Reid and Baucus at their first opportunity.

In the meantime, everyone needs to keep the spotlight focused on the crime being committed right before our eyes by Mr. Baucus.

    Dis-gusting.

I am worried..tired…583 People an hour join Our UnInsured Club….yup…400,000 a month….14,000 a day….HOW can this be justified…and so Some People, can have government Insurance Plans as an Option- Workers, VA and Medicare and Medicaid- AT what point do 52 Million Qualify ???? There are also estimates that 7-11 Million are Un Insured Children in this country….also there has been No studies to show how many of the 52 Million have real health Conditions or Histories that need monitoring and screening and care…Pre-Existing Conditions ( meaning True Health Issues are being Allowed to Block Real People to get Real Health Care…)And here is My BIGGEST Beef- WHY oh WHY doesn’t the MSM – even ED and Rachel and yes, Keith need to have People- Real people Like me- who have been refused denied and canceled By Insurance Companies and Have NO healthcare now…NONE….These shows need to show and let DC and the Public hear what it is like to live like this….It’s shattering..scary ..humiliating and so worriesome and stressful…I am an RN of over 20 years….I never thought I would be uninsured ….or cancelled due to my Health History….I have taken care of hundreds…I have never ever refused care to Anyone…I wouldn’t…I took an Oath…..But Our Elected Reps- House and Senate have Insurance paid for by us..and yet…they are mollycodding the Insurance Industry- we don’t Need Insurance Reform…we need Healthcare…..for all.

Sharing a point from the end of a previous threadSillyGit: “Everyone should be flooding their elected officials demanding single payer or a public option at the bare minimum anyway.”That’s what I’m thinking, but who could/would organize this? It just seems to me that trying to do something like this might be effective, as opposed to waiting resignedly for the bill to die.If America could muster the kind of (non-violent)protest crowd in support of real healthcare reform as the Iranians got after their election, I’d like to believe that the government response would be vastly different. AND it seems to me that the ideal time to show that support is in the next couple of weeks.

I just can’t believe that Obama would let this happen, let alone sign any bill without a public option.Call me stupid but I cannot believe he would be such a traitor to all of us who elected him.I am very discouraged also.

i move we take government health care away from our elected officials and their families until this is resolved-that is until everyone has access to government health care. And the Reverend Donald E Wildmon, who is sending those email requests to send to all your friends stating that Obama is going to euthanize old people, should be brought to task and challenged on his tax-exempt status in raising money for this cause.
