Up the Irons

Lance Armstrong via Twitter:

In my room listening to Maiden. Yes, Iron Maiden.

Armstrong moved into third place overall yesterday after 20mph crosswinds shattered the field, leaving Armstrong, Team Columbia and Cancellara in a lead group of 20 riders, some 40 seconds off the front and ahead of Contador, Leipheimer and Evans. So it’s very possible that at the end of the day today, following the team time trial, Lance Armstrong could be wearing the yellow jersey. Crazy.

    Bob, you called it!

“To take over as team leader with all three outpacing him would require a spectacular event of some sort — a crash or other twist of fate.”

Scribble — You ain’t seen nothing yet. Wait until the mountains! Also, I recommend recording the morning live coverage hosted by Phil and Paul. Much better than the prime time show.

Remember when Hinault kicked LeMond’s crybaby butt in the mountains? Poooooooor Greggy!I’m hoping Lance goes Hinault on Contador. I think yesterday might have been the start.
