Rick Perry is effing crazy.

Gov. Rick Perry, raising the specter of a showdown with the Obama administration, suggested Thursday that he would consider invoking states’ rights protections under the 10th Amendment to resist the president’s healthcare plan, which he said would be “disastrous” for Texas.

What’s he waiting for? Why wait for healthcare reform? If he doesn’t want government healthcare like the public option, why doesn’t he go ahead an invoke the 10th when in comes to Medicare and the VA?

Oh. Right. He won’t do that because he’s nothing but a grandstanding psychopath who deals in crazy talk.

    Maybe we can convince some of the committee members to offer up an amendment making the public option unavailable in Texas. We’ll call it the “Rick Perry Let Them Get Fat & Die / Tax Cut Amendment.”I love it when a low wattage mind like Perry’s decides to delve into constitutional law, especially that fake discipline of it that is embraced by Civil War wannabes pining away for Dixieland.

    Bob,This may be the crown jewel of the socialized medicine debate. If you don’t want a public OPTION(defined as a fucking choice not a mandate, but WTF it is America and you can be a dumbass if you want) you must refuse VA care and MEDICARE. To include TRICARE for all those uber conservative goose stepping veterans out there.

    Correct me if I am wrong.. but didn’t this jerk just ask for some extra money from the Federal Government because the state was broke? After trying to turn down the Recovery Act money..or some such?Hey Perry… Screw You! I don’t want any of my tax money going to you or your damn state.

    Governor Goodhair is an idiot and apparently thinks pandering to the most extreme wingnuts is a good plan.The state is not broke, Annette. But Perry took a wingnut stand in turning down recovery money using the excuse that the state didn’t want to change unemployment payment policies. Which was baloney. He was just doing the pandering bit. But the state unemployment funds have run out and Perry has asked the feds for the money. What a jerk.
