Crazy Quote(s) of the Day

It’s a tie so far.

“It’s not about getting a lot of Republicans. It’s about getting a lot of Democrats and Republicans. We ought to be focusing on getting 80 votes.” —Chuck Grassley

“We need to get a bill that 75 or 80 senators can support.” —Mike Enzi

Yeah, what say we go for 90 votes in the Senate. How about 120, which would require the addition of 10 states to the union. How about we bring in Grassley’s imaginary friends to vote, too?

Bob, I see two things going on here: (1) they’re beating that bipartisanship drum because they realize the town hall tactics haven’t worked and they’re going to lose. (2) They’re setting up a frame so they can spend 2010 talking about how Obama isn’t bipartisan enough.

One more thing: if two GOPers speak from the same talking point, then I move we consider them a single doof quote for our purposes.

I agree with Matt on his ’1′ theory. These statements reek of flop sweat.Obama (or a spokesperson – Gibbs?) will say nice words about this. Do not take those words the wrong way. Frankly, I’d like to see these asshats tied to a chair and bitch-slapped for about 15 minutes on the floor of the senate, but I don’t think that’ll happen.

I’d like to see both Grassley and Enzi fall down a flight of stairs and break their fucking necks! Or maybe take one Viagra too many and have their dicks explode! Fucking Geezers with one foot in the grave should just go ahead and put the other one in their!

    Ha! Rox – you’re a hoot.

Is it time for Grassley’s death panel yet? And I guess so much for wooing Enzi, huh? 80 votes? They are truly mad. They can think it makes them sound all bipartisan-y, but it just makes them sound craz-y.
