Lying Works

I’m both shocked and not very surprised by this:

[G]rowing complaints over the [end-of-life] provision are leading key lawmakers to conclude that the health overhaul should leave out any end-of-life counseling provisions. A group in the Senate Finance Committee that is attempting to craft Congress’s only bipartisan health bill has decided to exclude such a measure, Senate aides said this week.

So what does this tell us? The Republicans can lie and distort reality, and ultimately the Democrats will acquiesce to this insanity, thus confirming that lying and distorting reality is really effective. Maybe Sarah Palin is onto something after all.

    I don’t get it. The Democrats have 60 Senate votes, 256 in the House, and they’re going along with stuff like this?You know if the GOP had similarly-sized majorities, they’d be telling the Dems to suck it.

    Watching Linda Douglas from the WH on Ed, and she defended the SOB Grassly- “we don’t know what context he said this” WTF ??? He used the damn Fear word- get a clue….Here’s a plan- why doesn’ the WH house just sell Cemetary plots and life insurance- I feel like they are already done selling us all down the river….( and yeah the rest of the interview- she talked about how there would be “affordable “insurance- and they won’t let the Insurance companies discriminate anymore….What the hell ???WHAT happened to the Public Option….??????at this point I say we start over and get Single Payer FOR all)

    This is as bipartisan as it gets. Corporate America owns both sides of the aisle. What is the most expensive part of healthcare?…ding ding ding…END OF FUCKING LIFE CARE.We have an aging population that will only live longer while getting free hard-on medication from the youthful working class.When it comes to corporate interest, you can bet that the middle class will be paying the bill for corporate welfare.That is it! I am becoming a libertarian.I hate this whole fucking debate. The mindless zombies(60% of american) are screaming bloody murder over a bill that will ultimately help them the most and cost them the least.

    I certainly don’t want to give into this nonsense but if taking this out of the bill is our only concession, would it be so bad? We could be like “ok we’ll take out the death panels but we’re keeping the public option. Deal?” It’s not in Obama’s style at all to be anything other than above the fray. He’s not gonna point fingers or say Fuck You to the republicans. He just won’t. For the most part I applaud him for that.

    to eijefejeff:::See the thing is President Obama has made promises- over 2 years ago millions worked to help him become president, but we also worked and voted for change, because there are millions that are suffering, 52 Million Americans WITHOUT ANY HEALTHCARE….they can not be ignored , forgotten or set to the curb…there is NO Compromise on this issue- people are dying without care- 30,000 per year….you can not compromise or be concillatory when people are dying….And the repugs are spreading lies and fearmongering to support the Insurance Companies that have contributed to them….that is beyond WRONG…14,000 people a day are losing healthcare….there is No Compromise in their future either…
