It would seem that their (or a least his) desperation is such that he doesn’t mind creating enormous rhetorical inconsistencies; either that or he thinks that his audience is stupid enough not to notice them.

as has been been the case time after time in the recent history of american politics…the dems have the facts, the truth, and a majority of the american people on their side and are doing a thoroughly shit job of selling these things.apparently ignoring the unfortunate truth that yes, even the truth needs to be SOLD.meanwhile the republicans are armed with little more than lies, nonsense, irrational fear and endless hypocrisy.yet theyre doing a real bang-up job of selling these things.and the biggest problem here is,the actual number of people supporting your cause is usually irrelevant when those supporting the opposite cause are white,middle/upper class 35 and older.because these people are “real americans”.and when “real americans” get pissed off, they tend to get what they want.i mean, shit, they want their country back.and fox news is fighting tooth and nail to get it back for them.in january,i was still sort of on a “we won,we’re awesome fuck them” high.but like it or not,fnc-not just beck or even oreilly, but the entire network-is having a truly significant impact on the mood of this country in general and healthcare in particular.i cant recall any one media source having this kind of effect on any issue, ever.its really fucking frightening.

Bullshit and fearmongery. It’s all they have left.

It’s a double-edge sword, jack. The people who “believe” the Republicans do so because they WANT to believe them. No matter how the Democrats fight or whether they do a good job relaying their message or not, there is still going to be 35% of the population who think it’s bullshit because they don’t trust Democrats while they cling to their guns and religion. The difference is, they do a better job of ramping up The Crazy and what’s more controversial for the MSM (not just Fox) to put out there 24/7?

On another note, how happy do you think the GOP is that they elected Steele to the RNC chair? What a fucking dunce!

Most, if not all the inefficiencies and difficulties managing Medicare would be helped if not solved by having a strong public health plan. The government plan would be about providing payment for care not ultimately providing profit and thereby cutting care. The scope of the problems he was talking about are caused by our dual health care systems. The question these media folks are not asking is what is the difference between health care for a 65 year old and a 35 year old? The message is being lost by accommodating these bone heads.

Yeah I think its worth pointing out that the 20%er birther crowd would support the republicans no matter what they say or do.

Reg D has to do with transparency in financial disclosure for publicly held corporations. A “lawyer” should be more careful with his language.Speaking of language, “it is what it is” should be relegated to teenager speak. I shows a carelessness of logical thought and discourse. Finally, wasn’t Caroline Kennedy skewered by the right for her use of “you know”? This guy would lose a high school debate hands down. At least he isn’t practicing law.

Like a bear with a calculator, he has a firm grasp of something he knows nothing of.

I heard this this morning and was so happy that finally NPR did a real probing interview where they didn’t let the wingnuts out of jail free. Yea!
I also thought it amusing that Steele didn’t seem to even understand what “nuanced” means, or if he did he took it as an insult. Very revealing.

As I listened to this on the way to work this morning, I thought Hell Yeah Steve! Now why can’t you do that when speaking to a congressperson of the repug party? It was nice to have a taste of the old NPR. If only they will keep it up.
