Morning Joe

For some reason, I always end up tuning in Morning Joe just in time to catch something really stupid. Maybe that says something about the volume of stupid on that show.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure someone on the panel was saying they were disappointed that there wasn’t more “shouting” and “fireworks” at the president’s town hall meeting yesterday.

Yeah, the president only presented a very compelling argument in favor of healthcare reform and vigorously debunked the array of wingnut lies for an hour. But shouting and loud noises are what makes good television, so screw all that.

I really enjoyed the portion of the town hall that I saw. It always calms my nerves to see the prez laugh off the idiocy and explain things, for the most part, clearly. I would like to see him do this far more frequently–every three days through August. I would say everyday, but I guess that might be overkill. I don’t think the other congress people are really doing justice to the message.

I’m surprised that they’re surprised. The meeting was filled with a random sampling of all who applied, and they end up with a respectful, civil group. And not all were in favor – there were several audience shots where I saw people not applauding. I guess when you split up the mob and winnow them down to their actual size relative to the entire population you get a whole ‘nuther picture.

Spot on Bob! I saw them talking about that this morning. They were actually disapointed that no one disrespected our President? And I’m really sick of this whole “both sides are guilty” bullshit and they also kept saying that these screamers are not being organized by the groups Rachel Maddow pointed out again last night. I’m sure Joe watches Rachel but, would never admit it. He’s likely still pissed that she ate his face on Race for the Whitehouse forcing him to walk off the set during the commercial. I’d like to send that bastard an email and ask him to get Rachel to co host with him the next time Mika is on vacation. I know he won’t have the balls to do it because unlike Mika, Rachel doesn’t take any of his bullshit. She’d let him rant and then chew his ass off with facts! Fuck off Joe! You and the douchebags who disrupt the townhalls are just pissed because Obama crushed your party of ignorant, uninformed, stupid ass Americans. Welcome to hell LOSERS!

Bob,Any time you put on Morning Joe you’re going to find something stupid. It doesn’t matter what time you put it on.Scaborough should be sent to early retirement or Fucks News. I don’t kno why he’s still on the air at all. He always makes me scream at the teevee.

Bob,Why no post about Obama’s press conference yesterday? Especially after all the chatter on here about Obama’s supposed lack of leadership? I personally thought he was pretty much kicking ass – took on all of the insane ‘death panel’ and ‘granny-killing’ type rumors head-on while making them sound as ridiculous as they are, rallied the troops, talked about reform in clear and easy to understand terms….basically everything that our congressmen have failed to do. “Lack of leadership” my ass. By the end of it, he was begging for some nutjob to come forward and challenge him….I’m relatively certain the reason none took him up on it is b/c he had already debunked all of their bullshit.Oh, and be careful sir – Morning Joe is bad for your blood pressure!

I just saw on CNN that Obama is doing several more town halls so that makes me a fairly happy camper. Plus, CNN did a good job of debunking some of the stupid lies being spread about reform. On top of that, they had a segment where Ali Velshi (sp) was in Paducah, KY, talking to regular shmoes and the majority of them were pro reform. One lady whose family is without insurance pointed out that she does not mind paying more in taxes so everyone can have access b/c it would be so much less. Another lady pointed out that we need to pay for actual care instead of just paying for insurance; the insurance costs more and the care doesn’t necessarily follow. It was very reassuring to see everyday people, southerners in a thoroughly red state, understanding and plainly stating the truth. Velshi even said that in his travels, the majority of people have been pro reform. I just can’t believe CNN actually followed truth instead of drama. For that, I guess I’ll need to watch Blitzer this evening.
