Super Stupid

Chris Matthews’ “big number” tonight was 61. That is, 61 percent of Democrats apparently told Rasmussen, a Republican polling outfit, that George W. Bush knew something about the 9/11 attacks and didn’t do anything to prevent them.

And therefore Matthews’ too-cute conclusion was that there are crazy people “on both sides.”

Nope. Wrong. At least, not based on this particular false equivalency.

As I wrote this morning, the Birther movement is uniquely crazy in that it’s motivated strictly by racial and ethnic bigotry and there is zero evidence to back up their ridiculous, bigoted claim.

And George W. Bush was, in fact, aware that — what’s the phrase? — Bin Laden was determined to attack inside the U.S. using hijacked airplanes, and he didn’t do anything to prevent it. Oh, and when told that America was under attack, he sat in a classroom petrified for nine minutes. So Rasmussen’s question was loaded and vague and open to broad interpretation.

Suck it, Matthews.

I’ll put it this way… on one hand you have people that believe what they see over what they are told(re 911) and on the other you have people that believe what they are told over what they see(re birthers).

Why would he feel compelled to even make the comparison? Why does he have to be even-handed about it, or at least try to make it appear that he’s be even-handed since the two situations are not at all analogous? He’s treating them far too seriously when they should be made vicious fun of for their birth-certificate-in-a-baggy/Pledge-of-Allegiance-reciting fucktardedness. There is no proof that could be offered that would not be immediately dismissed by these racist mental defectives as either counterfeit or part of the conspiracy that seeks to control the entire world and it’s wealth. Hawaiian birth certificate, (even the original one should Hawaii decide to release a copy of it)? Fake, obviously created to legitimize an illegal presidency. Hillary Clinton, this last election not being her first, or even fifth, trip to the rodeo, didn’t dig up any proof of his Kenyan birth? So what. She’s part of the New World Order. Takes her orders from the Build-A-Burgers. John McCain, one of the meanest sonofabitches in Congress and no idiot when it comes to campaigning either, didn’t find evidence of his not-American-nationality? Well, he was brainwashed in Viet Nam by the very masters that created Obama in the first place. Couldn’t let anything get in the way of the Master Plan.Fuck. I’m worked up now.

Tweety is an idiot….and at times he really misses the Big Picture….911 is and was all about Lies, that they KNEW about Warnings and we did not find out until Condasleeza was questioned at the 911 hearings in 2004- three years later she had to stutter it out….and so Bush was warned and continued his FIRST Crawford Vacation after reading the August 6th Memo on 2001…( Condi was so worried she had her name taken off her tanker that summer…) and WE the People are not supposed to remember ANY of that or have legitimate worries or concerns…yeah Tweety…WE the people and Bloggers were paying attention and blogging ALL of this ALL these years….while Tweety sat and made inane comments….and laughed about people not Trusting their Government…If he ever compared me to a nutjob teabagger or birther…..I would have plenty to say to him…downright insulting that he is deemed “smart” enough to have a show…

Ugh. Matthews is a roller-coaster ride. One minute he’s destroying Liddy by saying Rasmussen polls lean right, the next he’s buying Rasmussen polls as evidence. Ugh.

RCP did a post pushing this same meme yesterday morning. You’re spot on – Bush did know there was going to be an attack. I wish these polling companies would phrase the question much better, like “Do you think that Bush administration officials helped coordinate the 9/11 attacks”. If they did that then you would see a much different number that highlights the party crazies.Adding – a lot of the big birthers are also truthers, yet the media seems to ignore that. Also when did the media give any real attention to the truthers? Never (and rightfully so), yet they just love letting the birthers get their camera times.

“Both sides do it. Both sides have wingnut crazies” seems to be the meme now. The other day I heard one Tweety-like person (don’t think it was Tweety though) compare the Birthers to people who don’t believe that Oswald acted alone.

  • roxsteady

Really! What a fucking idiot Tweety is. It’s like they need to somehow drag Democrats into this shit to prove that the birthers aren’t the only crazy wingnut bastards out their. The problem with this false equivalency is that it’s just that…IT’S FALSE! And please, when you find actual Democratic elected leaders who have signed on to that truther bullshit the way the House members have signed onto this birther bullshit, and have introduced a bill, please post it here on Bob’s blog. I won’t hold my breath! Fuck off Tweety!

Matthews is as amoral as media dorks come. Don’t litter your brain with the political weathervane nonsense any longer. Nix Hardball. That is all.

I think Chris Matthews is heading toward a breaking point. As I’ve said many times before, he is showing himself to be one of those “old white men” we keep hearing about. The ones that can’t believe we aren’t still living in the 1950s (hence his adoration of bigot Pat Buchanan)and seems to refuse to even recognize this is a new era. In fact, I’d be willing to bet that, had he lived at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, he would have been the first journalist to say machines will never replace people and horses!

Witness Monday. He STILL insisted that if Health Reform is passed, gov’t agents will be knocking at the doors of the elderly asking how they want to die. This, despite the fact that he had one of the involved members of congress on last week that flat-out told him that WASN’T in the bill!

I suppose it’s possible that he’s in the first stages of Alzheimer’s and it’s not his fault that he’s more and more confused lately. BUT, if that IS the case, why don’t his producers tell him he’s heading into wingnut territory? Can’t they point out to him that if he continues down this road of insanity he may well end up being the “left’s” Rush Limbaugh?

(Now that I think about it, given the fact that Chris DOES seem to bring up Rush on an almost daily basis praising his “showmanship”, maybe he IS striving for that mantle.)

I think Tweety is starting to get Dementia. He is constantly repeating and contradicting himself, more so than usual. I used to be able to watch him every so often but not anymore.Isn’t he past retirement age? Lawrence O’Donnell or David Schuster would do a much better job in that spot. Tweety needs to retire before he loses all his dignity, however much he may have left.

Oh, and by the way, all these Cable talkers and pundits and wealthy politicians (McCain comes to mind) need to forfeit their Social Security benefits and donate it all towards health care reform. They don’t need the money anyway. What these motherfuckers pay for dinner for themselves and their families in a nice restaurant is nearly what a working poor family lives on in about 6 months time. They don’t pay payroll taxes so why should they get Social Security?
